What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. Terrible place to work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management does a terrible job running the company and they don't know how to handle employees without conflict. There's a lot of substance abuse. And is an extremely unsafe place to work

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Drugs arguing and fighting is the environment at southwestern mfg.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You will receive very little direction but also be disciplined. Harshly for small mistakes unless you are one of the favorites of management

Some good people but certain managers are horrible trucks not plated properly told you can move 50000 on trailers but trucks only plated for 65000 gvw that leaves 36000 to put on trailers always pushing to over load that’s why I left

Never know proper weights for jobs

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good people in some positions but lots of negative people 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful never knowing weights loaded on trucks

Rules and policies are not enforced to people who are related to management, reporting anything including theft will get you demoted/terminated. 

Performance reviews are based upon how liked you are by management as opposed to actual work, recent change in upper management has had a negative impact on quality of day to day work life. 

Job postings are usually posted higher than the wage offered in person, essentially lowballing.


When I worked there I was treated unfairly was forced to do more work then other and was paid way less for doing the same job as someone else that we both started on the same day with the same experience. Not only that but you need to bring your own tools and people steal them they'll cut the lock right off your tool box and take whatever you want and the supervisor encourage this.

Good place to work if you take pride in your work. Work as a team and you’ll grow. Depends which area you work but if you are humble and are passionate about your work you’ll do good. Great place to learn if you wanna learn. Had a tough start when i was new but when you adapt to work environment you’ll get way better and  more comfortable.

I have experienced being treated unfairly. Management is very short tempered and wont train people. I experienced being sweared at multiple times. High ups have their favoritism. Pay is not good for the amount of work Im doing and the treatment I had experienced. Seen people complaint and they were fired the next day. 

Pretty ok to work  lots of hours .management didn't know how to run a company properly  a bit stressful. Lots of favouritism ..they don't know how to see quality workers and reward them properly and some times I don't think they canread people s resume properly

Was a welder on the afternoon shift. Good laid back coworkers, if you needed help you could always rely on a coworker to help you. Owner is a good respectful fella. Management was good. Top notch machines and equipment. Nothing bad to say about southwestern manufacturing.

I was new at cnc and new everything but programming and they wanted me to do thus by myself and run the machine I eventually learned how to do 2d programming on my own .when I left they posted the same job but said 35years plus experience for something I was 75% doing on my own

Preference to foreign workers and lack of safety protocols.
Given no training and expected to do the work.
Experienced personal harassment in work environment.
If you complain you're out.
