Working at Spaenaur is similar to driving a rudderless ship. No long term/short term strategies to move the company forward. 

Current management is often confused, have difficulty communicating ideas and lead by the "Flavor of the day Management". Your research is often by way google rather than proven business ideas and actions. Most management work in a "silo" protecting turf and often tell CEO what he wishes to hear rather than the truth. 

Company cannot accept balanced feedback on any project big or small. Most feedback is taken as a threat and often times that person will be fired or simply let go. Projects undertaken are changed daily with respect to what's most important only to have this turned around 2 hours later by the CEO. Too many meetings with Mgmt. staff trying to "outdo' each other wanting to be seen more favorable with the CEO.

Many sacred cows within organization. Company hire many well educated, smart and talented people only to let them go. 


Spaenaur has a great reputation within the industry built on the previous 2 generations of ownership. Unfortunately today with it awkward management styles and leadership at all levels, longevity could be called into question.

This place pulls you in with making you feel as if your a part of the "family", but literally let's you go like you meant nothing at the drop of a dime. They fire you, or let you go for anything and everything, and no longer take on long term employees. Tons of Temps all around you that end up staying because they don't have to pay them top wages or benefits. They are so behind from all of the people either leaving or being let go, that you end up having to work through breaks and lunches or shorten them just to keep your numbers up. The only good thing about this place was the coworkers. Even the long time employees that have been there for years and years have and tell all of the newbies that this place has gone downhill and they only stay because most are almost retired now. 

Staff scurry around complaining about their jobs. 
Managers spend their days in meetings chatting, zero leadership. They are all related and hire family and friends. So all the actual work falls onto the backs of those not related employees but are to scared to say anything. Boundaries are constantly crossed, wages are kept secret and they don't put things in paper. 
The interview process was complete fabrication and nothing was the truth or as promised. Wage increases are delayed and peoples pays are not accurate but again, they're to scared to say anything because it is months of working at a LOW LOW wage for a LOW increase but you've spent all this time here already. So sad. 

The job is very physical and sometimes you have to skip breaks to get the work done. Management refuses to hire full timers and the company is always short staff which leads to missing breaks sometimes lunch. Management needs a lot of improvement as there is a lack of communication between managers. The pay is very mediocre for the amount of work you. Co-workers are great. Moral is low at all times due to strict rules and regulations. Not enough help given when needed by coordinator.

Was treated like gold up until my disability prevented me from being able to work as fast or any physical labor. Left in the dust. Made me jump through hoops to try and get cross trained to work from home while Drs and I continue figuring out my disability, even though I would go to my previous job once my health was resolved. Nope apparently thats impossible (even though other workers have been cross trained). So now Im currently employed but receiving no money and cant afford to live. 

The coworkers were awesome! There’s always raffles and a very nice Christmas bonus depending on how the company did that year. Catered events and free food, Overall, the work isn’t difficult to do. Overall, good company to work for.

Problem is your workload, lots of tasks lots of things you’re expected to do and unfortunately isn’t compensated for your efforts.

You’d have to work five years in this role here to make a decent salary … or go to another job and have a starting salary of what you potentially make here in five years… 



The warehouse is run by multiple managers who do not communicate with each other or employees. When you can find a manager between their endless pointless meeting they are super passive agressive and talk badly about workers  behind their backs. There is no job security if you question how things are done or say no to anything. Its hard to find a smile on warehouse staff as they get paid so little 

I enjoyed working there, there are things that I suggested should be done to make it better in my exit interview. It is very family based making it hard to have changes because they are more focused on the family aspect than making it a better work environment.

You can give your best but will not be appreciated. Very low pay increases. Most likely you need to work for 20 years before reaching $20 per hr. Coworkers are good and working conditions ( clean and warm) are fine. You are to work more and more with no hope for monetary fair increases. No advancements opportunities 


This one of the best job I ever had. The people at Spaenaur are the best. If you chose this company you won't never feel alone. Excellent management! I learned a lot working for Spaenaur
