What is the best part of working at the company?
Helping the customers . Being able to provide them with  the best customer service available was always my main goal.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working for an owner who has unrealistic goals for you to achieve. Being made to work a  five or six hour shift without being allowed to take a break .It just wasn’t a healthy atmosphere to work in .

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The owner makes it very difficult to enjoy your job as he is either yelling at you or talking down to you. There was never any positive or encouraging words from him. What was done a certain way one day kept changing and you never knew that until he yelled at you and put you down . It was very hard to stay positive and upbeat there as there was just no pleading him . The staff turn over at all four Specialty Bakeries is very high , there always hirering new people as no one wants to work there due to the working conditions 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Demanding, stressful, and very unappreciated  . If it wasn’t for the great customers that came in it would have been unbearable.

Very unorganized management. Baked goods are baked today and shipped the next day. The product is good but when it is shipped out it is already a day old. Same with the doughnuts. Staff constantly calling in sick so you are left to do the job of two people. Very high staff turnover often leading to new staff getting trained by other staff that has only been there for a short time. Management takes on new clients when they cant keep up with the demand they already have. 

One great dysfunctional family. Boss wants everything yet doesn’t want to upset anyone by implementing anything. The staff walk all over the management and if they’re held accountable, then it’s you -the new comer- who is to blame.. Staff talk about everyone else’s problems but don’t talk to each other. Daily at least one employee is crying or miserable or upset. Don’t bother trying to fit in right away. Some staff had been there for a few months and still fee like outcasts. Miserable cooks. Scatterbrained management. Under trained cash staff. . Filthy production areas. Outdated and past dated product kept. ... stay away. Far away. Not worth it.

The management team is NEVER on the same page. They also don't seem to care;

  There was a mouse running around, and they still knowingly sent out racks of bread to be crumbed. There was a point where I trusted neither the product AND management, and that's bad.

  The manager at time of employment also had anger issues, to the point a handful of customers would refuse to enter if they were working. Overall, run if you can.

Don't always get your orders n custom orders Don't always get filled. If staff phone in sick you're on your own from opening to close. Hard to get 2 days off in a row. Often freezer n packing orders get shorted, at times shelves will be unfilled if the orders Don't come in from the main bakery.

all management was taken care by the owners who showed interest in both employees and customers
there was no difficult part of my job and the best part was since working so early in the morning having the rest of the day to do errands didnt interfer

Culture of encouragement and caring.  Everyone had value and was part of the team.  Employee input and ideas were welcomed.  The rate of staff return spoke volumes!

Very chaotic want u to learn all departments to fast and lots of expectations to know everything right away. Lots of lateness even though they want u to be on time.

Deliveries to accounts on a daily basis. In winter the hours of shifts reduce due to the 'time of the season'. 
Good boss and coworkers. Would have loved to stay, but the drop in hours made it very hard to pay bills.
