What is the best part of working at the company?
I worked on two different locations for speedy. One of them was Montreal east yard and working over there was awesome everything was organized over there. But at brockville terminal it was worst in every scenario.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
At montreal yard nothing was stressful. At Brockville yard a lot of factors which gives you stress such as load is not secured by loaders which you can not fixed after loading,  dangerous goods were also not secured by stripes, no placards placed on trailer before loading dangerous goods, trailers are not swept before loading so resulting in wooden debris all over the place which make all unloading operation with manual pump trucks difficult, does not give electric pump trucks for heavy skids, mostly 70% tailgate deliveries are oversized skids which was very difficult to unload. A lot of customers for speedy brockville have tight unloading locations which are good for straight trucks only but brockville terminal dispatch always try to push you to go there with semi truck trailer 53’  . Everyday you have to struggle to find pump trucks before starting your shift. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mostly stressful in Brockville terminal. They delayed your load every day and then give enough deliveries around 11 o clock which are not possible to deliver then push you do it by calling you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Once there was a time I had a delivery for Maniwaki, Quebec. My manager called me to go there from Gatineau Quebec. The closing time for that location around 5:30 but my eta was near 5:45. Also I had only left few hours for log book. But my manager did not listen any thing from me and pushed me go there. Due to road closures I reached there 6:42 pm and still not able to do that delivery. I gave him reasonable reasons and pics of my eta and my log book that this was not possible to deliver but he did not listen to me and pushed me to go there for nothing. So that was the typical day for me

If you are expecting to work on the dock using the forklift for your entire shift, I would look for another job. 97% of the time, you will be in an office processing customs documents with the occasional pull off or Windsor load. Management will then treat you badly when you do pull offs because your productivity in the office will suffer a bit. They don't care about their Windsor terminal and the job is just a revolving door. Management expects you to stay beyond your shift even though you are on a set salary and will not get paid for any overtime you do and if you don't stay, you are treated badly. In the past year, there have been 9 people who have quit, 6 of whom quit within 2 weeks of starting. No one is properly trained for the job and everyone is told to learn on the go and it'll be okay. If you make a mistake during your training, you will be treated badly by management and possibly written up even though you had no idea you made the mistake due to your improper training. The only good thing about the job is that the staff you work with are kind.

It's like a war zone inside this place. The workers that work hard in this place have to work harder because management knows they'll get it done. Only some workers work hard but others don't so it puts a big workload for the good workers. 
A-LOT of 2 face people in this place. Basically you have to be nervous everyday because if you make 1 little mistake you'll either get a letter in your file or terminated. Mistakes do happen because it's very fast inside the terminal. 
-They'll tell you you'll get a great raise but in the end it's about 25cents, if you're lucky!
- management is always watching every single thing you do

I resigned about 2 months ago because there was a lot of harassment happening in here. It's sad because the company does have potential. 

Oh if work is slow they'll have you working outside cleaning around the building. If you stand for 2 seconds without doing something you'll get in trouble. (Military style)


I joined as a City Owner Operator a couple of years ago. Management has increased our pay schedule and they are always looking for ways to improve our lives. If you hustle and work hard - you will be rewarded by making great money with very little deductions. I read the negative stuff on these review sites and I know that the people who leave negative comments represent less than 1 percent of people who work here or have worked here. If you dedicate yourself to the customers and the company - you receive recognition and great bonuses on top of the great pay structure. I have worked for other trucking companies over the years and nothing compares to Speedy Transport. If you have a problem that needs to be solved you have access to VPs and the CEO on a daily basis. I have never seen executives this dedicated to drivers and other regular workers. It's a joy to come into work everyday.

Nothing but they give you a free parking spot;


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The daily distance we travel is often more than 400 km per day, and sometimes 500 km, all within the QC district.
If your truck breaks down for any reason, they will not ask about you and will deduct the day from your account.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The treatment from the staff, whether management or dispatchers, is very bad, with a lot of threats.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very bad because of the heavy work, the successive transfers and the intensive calls, which causes mental and physical exhaustion and great fatigue for the truck because of the long distances and the heavy load, and sometimes they do not pay if you use the Tailgate

What can I say about this place that you have read already. Fast paced, stressful, little training and favoritism. If they like you as a person, you got it good. If they don't look out. 

Upper management well, they are there. Some not easy to get along with and that is an understatement. You have breaks and lunch, but they really don't want you taking them. Would rather see you eating and working at your desk. I do have to say the people that you work with are really good. I think it is a mentality of we are in this together and we keep each other sane.

There is high turn over, People come in and out all of the time. Some don't even last past their first brake. I'm not joking. I would not recommend a friend or family member to work there. If you are reading this don't.

I currently work in the human resource department at the Brampton terminal. I started off doing my summer internship here for school and ended up getting hired on after the summer. I have learned so many different things in the HR field, more than I think any other company would have allowed me to learn. I love my co-workers as they are always willing to help you when in need and always willing to take the time to train me on new things. Its more like a family than a job. The company also has an annual golf tournament and BBQ's that helps everyone have fun and meet people. The benefits are great! and the annual bonus at the end of the year based on performance is amazing and comes just in time to get all the holiday shopping done. I love working here!

This company at first I thought has a lot to offer, but after starting the job and seeing what it’s all about it became clear the management have no clue what they are doing. They have no training structure, they expect you to get things done on your own, even after promising to give you a one on one training during interview, the customer service environment isnt hygienic, everyone gets sick, and if you start and get sick, expect to me fired, very clueless set of manager, they hire and fire you when in the real sense they don’t need staff, I went to work for 4days straight without gaining anything tangible with no training at all. If you want a job with security stability and growth, speedy, London Ontario is not for you. Very bad management making bad business decisions. 

While I loved the actual job at Speedy my biggest problem was supervisory management in the afternoons. Very immature didn't know how to properly speak to employees and often times takes off to his vehicle for long periods of time so you have no one to consult when an issue arises. Many times I had to fall back on the warehouse supervisor for support. There is no room in the London location to move up to a higher role in the company unless you plan on sticking around for a long time. I will say this about upper management though, always completely understanding when a family emergency takes place or if you need time off for a significant reason. Just be wary of accepting an afternoons role in a Operations.

Driving the fork lift to u load and load trailers

Manager that bullies his employees

Stressful and unsafe work practices I do t recommend people working there 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Confusing , people are under  lots of stress and they make mistakes routinely , many repeat mistakes not only at the terminal where I worked but at other terminals that distribute work to us , managers constantly flag problems and attempt to notify others of their mistakes but unfortunately many problems keep reappearing
