I have learned how to build relationships with internal customers such as branch managers and sales and external customers in daily communication in regards to risk assessment, setting up credit limits, releasing/holding orders depending on customer's payment patterns and being over due or over limit. I learned how to resolve problems and disputes with customers and set up payment plans for those who have cash flow issues. How to train other fellow employees especially when they're new and oversee their work for a few days to make sure they are following the correct credit procedures and policies. 

I like being a part of a team where I've made suggestions to the managers that changed the dynamics and processes in the department to be smoother and more efficient. I like motivating and helping others in the department when they have problems or difficulties dealing with certain customers. 

Hardest part is when the terms are removed from a customer and account is made COD. You need to convey that information to them in a way that will not make them upset. If they get upset, you need to be diplomatic in telling them that they will be assessed and if their payment pattern improves, their credit limit will be reviewed.

I’ve had the pleasure of working at Spicers Canada, and it is a great secure place to be. What stands out most is the friendly and supportive work environment. The team here is incredibly welcoming and collaborative.

Fairly straight-forward work but micro-managed by other employees, accused of doing things that were done by others and repeatedly lectured by my peers.

No opportunities for advancement, zero trust or support from management. NOT A TEAM ENVIRONMENT.

If you are someone that likes to work with your colleagues to accomplish a task this job is not for you. It is every man for himself and blame flying from every direction. Absolutely toxic environment.

Good people to work with. I really enjoyed working there because of the people. Hardworking, dedicated staff doing their best. 
With industry knowledge the job can be fairly easy, however it is busy so be prepared to work. If you know little about the paper and printing industry there is a learning curve but with time, patients and the willingness to learn the product knowledge comes and once you have that you are golden. They will keep you unless you leave or give them reason to end your employment. So once you are in you are in.

Okay Job  , same thing each day lift cases of paper. The manager at the Kitchener branch only listens to 2 supervisors if they feel you’re a better worker than them they will throw you under the bus in order to protect their own job. Lots of older people there that just sit and talk while newer employees pick up the slack. Wouldn’t recommend the wage is far too low. You will be promised raises but will just get sold the same old story of our benefits are amazing. They go through temporary workers biweekly

Spicers is a great company to work for if you are looking for stability and long-term employment. Every position has opportunity for advancement and growth. Management values input from employees and recognizes your contributions. Best company I've worked for in my years of experience. 

When starting in a completely new industry, the clients were just amazing in helping with the training and learning curve to make the job enjoyable and fun. My co-workers were also a huge help in getting a new employee settled and training, giving advise, helping with providing information and taking the time to train.

The warehouse manager only listens to 2 supervisors. You don't have a voice. If the supervisors think you are a better worker then them they will back stab you. Seen many people let go with no reason. In the small amount of time I was there I seen many people come and go just because . They will tell you they are restructuring . I heard this many times sitting in lunch room next to the office

no consistency and no efficiency at this branch, the management on the dock do things on purpose to make the job harder for the drivers, long ways of doing things, plus pretty sketchy at times, in the end it’s no fun being steered wrong but that’s the environment they run over there, stay away unless you like being micromanaged, steered or pulled random directions, or potentially worse
