Sports Direct

I worked at Sports Direct as a temporary and worked over the Christmas period which is one of the busiest periods for the store. I worked through Christmas and New Year which were extremely busy, and this taught me how to work well under pressure - but also to work efficiently in order to make sure that every customer was being served in good time so that they didn’t have to wait around.

During my time at Sports Direct, I worked in customer service and helped assist shoppers with choosing shoes. This also entailed me having to go into the stockroom to find the shoe in the correct size and colour. This taught me how to work with customers and gave me experience in dealing with any issues that the customers and may have experienced. I was also trained to operate the tills so I have experience with handling money and working with the electronic tills. This taught me how to provide good customer service whilst also packing customers bags and handling the payments whether these be card or cash.

The company is good and i enjoyed working there. i would go back there and work for them again but at a highier pay rate, atleast 5ph or more. A day at work was always fun as i worked on football boots and am a footballer so i enjoyed selling what i owned and used my self and advise parents. the management at times was very unfair but i always humbled my self and just done what i did. and i cant really comment a lot on management as i saw a lot of managers come and go. my co-workers we really good people.

Ok place to work, one of the managers was awful which I absolutely hated. Had a good amount of targets to reach and got benefits for them, but was only a voucher for Sports Direct... but if you shop their then it's great. Very sexist as only men were placed on shoes/football boots and women were always on tills. Uniform was awful, think they may have changed now but was not many options of uniform for women. Pay was ok from what I remember from a 16 year old.

Working at Sports Direct Inc. was a very fun job for me because of my love for sports. Every situation I was in I wasn't preasured and I felt as though I had control over everything I did. In situations wher ei was doing multiple games at once I felt as though there was no stress because of the easy to work in environment.

easy going workplace, management easy to speak to and friendly environment. personally the salary and hours are just not enough. i have learned how to deal with many different people and how to work through many different problems. in sports direct everyone gets along and becomes one family.

A typical day at work would include serving people cleaning the shops tables and floors. The management was good to an extent. Sometimes some staff would have no clue where they stood on the work floor. Hardest part of the job was the other employees. Best part of the job were the perks that came with it.

the work place was fantastic and staff and managers are easy to go to if you need help. the location was near to where i live so easy to get to. i learnt that i can take on any task. the hardest part was when it was busy and there was oly 2 or 3 people in that area.

A lot of restrictions with bad hours some nice people but constantly changing staff.  Bad pay and with staff constantly changing if you’ve been there a long time there will always be someone to train, i was there for a couple months that’s considered long term. But people are lovely 

Depending on the people you are on shift with makes the day/shift go easier and you can have fun whilst working . When having him on shift it makes everyone happier and lets the day go quicker 

Enjoyed working at Sports Direct.  Great atmosphere and employee benefits.  Enjoyed working with the group in Finance and in general all of the staff.  The owners made sure the employees enjoyed coming to work.
