The residents are the only good thing about this company.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unorganized, everyone treats you bad. Corporate office thinks they are better than everyone and they treat the residents like price tags. Spring Living only cares about residents in a marketing perspective and not as human beings. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is extremely toxic and stressful. It is very unorganized and you’re always micromanaged by people who have less education than you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Walk into work and feel the hostility of all the leadership team. Spend time with the residents, which is great. Then instead of the team helping you, they try to belittle you and always say “make sure to make me look good”.

The staff at this facility go above and beyond, largely because the residents are so engaging, pleasant, and a true pleasure to care for. However, the workforce is severely overworked due to frequent scheduling issues and staff call-outs. Due to the facility layout, visitors often do not notice the strain because care and staffing ratios are concentrated on the upper floor rather than the main area. Additionally, the pay scale is low, and daily expectations frequently extend well outside the official job description. If you value your work-life balance, mental health, and professional dignity, I strongly advise looking for employment elsewhere.

This place is the worst place I've ever worked at in my entire life. There is no work-life balance as this facility is being staffed with one RPN and one PSW with 72 residents. Residents are not getting the proper care they need because it is all about the money for the management team.  The managers sit in their office and gossip about everybody including the resident's family who can't afford for their family members to continue to live at this facility. Please if you love and care about your family members do not take them to this place as this place kills the residents by not sending them to the hospital.  

I have learned to never work for a company that can’t find or keep staff. There is always a reason and I found it. POOR MANAGEMENT. 
I needed a job while I finished nursing school so I settled for this because it was close to home. 
The ED consistently dropped the ball, After waiting over a Month for a pay check, it was incorrect and the pay was well below a living wage.  Short staffed due to the low pay, poor management and high responsibilities. The management has no experience with seniors or running a home.  ED has a poor work ethic never showing up, but always had her face in her phone. Staff are angry, overworked and underpaid.

Each and every team members are good and helpful and the management is very good as well as working environment is excellent

Nothing is stressful everything going softly and somtly

Calm and cooperative environment I love most

Excellent  and I love to work

My experience at this company could not have gone worse. Manager set lofty expectations from the beginning, but didn't provide nearly enough training. I am disappointed as I was excited to land this job, but was setup to fail thanks to incompetent management. This is a new company that is still trying to figure things out, and id only apply if you are absolutely desperate. Trust me.

I love my job, the smiles and appreciation received from the residents make it all worthwhile.
Like any place you work there are positives and negatives however overall it is a great place to work. Our housekeeping team is just that a team that works together to make sure the residents have a beautiful place they call home.  Our team is lucky to have a manager that looks out for us and  is fair and kind to all of us.


Unfortunately, the leadership does not support the team. The Administrator is rude, unprofessional and treats the staff with disrespect.  It was so overwhelming and stressful, micromanaged and deflating. The residence and staff need to feel valued and heard, but this does not happen. The gossiping is the worst and most is led by the administrative office 

Portal Village is lovely, friendly and a great place that I am proud to work at. I would recommend to anyone who loves working with the elderly. The staff at portal village are friendly and compassionate, and the residents are fantastic and so appreciative! The activities for the residents are amazing and so engaging. I truly enjoy going to work everyday.
