Restock carts around the hospital and helping nurses and/or nurse-aid staff find the item they need is a regular part of the job. Stocking the carts is usually a daily task, but also depends on the where the cart is located and how often used. Learning the stock system Dynamed was interesting and sometimes difficult, especially if the internet went down. The management is awesome and they are very kind and understanding. The management and staff help to make the environment as enjoyable as possible for all staff. Helping nurses and nurse-aids find items in the storeroom that don't know the name of is constantly a difficulty as some sites will call the same item a different name. For example, some will come down looking for graduated cylinders. The only area in the hospital that carries that particular piece of equipment is the lab. Seeing as I have an education in a science field, I quickly realize that is not what they are looking for. What they were looking for was 1000mL triangular-shaped pitchers. Regardless, our job is to help people or at least give the supplies required to staff to help people such as patients, clients, or other staff which is one of the best parts.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The hours. 7.5 hrs. Hours were good didn't have to do grave yards shifts. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When someone doesn't show up for their schedule shift. You would have to stay if you were the only one working. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic you basically have to run the office manager not on site to ask questions or give guidance. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful if you are working in a toxic environment. Or whensome isn't pull their weight on the job.

I would start a typical 8 hr. shift at  the Hospital reviewing my pts charts.  Then vital signs would be taken.  Beds to be made then dressing if any were done.  Patients were taken for walks as necessary.  If I was working in the Nursery, babies were taken to there mothers and postpartum checks were done.  Mothers were helped with nursing their babies.  If I was on the Pediatric unit children were bathed and vital signs were taken.  Charting was done at the end of every day.

A typical day at work would entail being assigned to different areas and units of the hospital; Our duties as an employee was to sanitize, clean patient area, floors, walls, bathrooms.

What i liked the most about my job were the patients that i would meet along the way and was able to make their day brighter with even something as simple as a smile and a hello when cleaning their room.

What i disliked most about this job is all the politics, gossip, and negativity that circulated amongst the employees.

St. Pauls Hospital is challenging because of it's diverse population of patients.  On our unit (7th Medicine) we find ourselves looking after seniors suffering from dementia, people suffering from mental illness and substance use disorders and a wide variety of medical problems.  I am always happy to go to work because of the incredible teamwork exhibited by my colleagues and by the incredible support and presence of our manager.

A team gets report, history review your patients chart. Understand and prepare what's need for your home visit

For visitation, prepared needs 
And requirent for the patient
Visit the patient in their home, execute assessment, and respond to required medical needs. Communicate to your team if you have  concerns or patient's progress.

4b Surgery at St. Pauls hospital is great place to work. The management cares about how your doing and what you think would improve productivity on the floor. Patient safe care is the number one priority and the staff strive to make sure this standard is met. My co-workers are supportive, compassionate, and are always willing to help each other. The updated technology is a joy to work with and helps make patient care even better.

Everything and everyone working was so nice.

Sometimes so much busy but not always.

No discrimination and the pay of course.

Working with people and caring of patients

I have been at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon for 8 years. I have loved every minute of it. The staff is like family. The patients say they can feel and see it. We genuinely care for one another.
The hardest part of the job is watching a patient pass. The best part of the job is watching people walk again, or even just go home.
