Great paying Job after every shift in cash. But very hard labor and if you slack some owners will get upset. Some days consisted of 13 hours strait and breaks were not really specified. I worked every market day during the summer and it is very draining but rewarding at the end of the day. Its fantastic that market is every second day to give your body a break between shifts. The customers can very some can be extremely nice but also some can be very inconsiderate, you make friends with the other stand owners and regular shoppers. The one man i worked for thought it was weird for me to eat during the day. The managing is very laid back for some but keep in mind the market for most sellers is their pride and joy and they do need to make money. You are working outside so weather can very, which is horrible when you are at work at 5 am to set up huge tents in the rain and then required to work steadily throughout the rest of the day. Some days i would get to take home the left over produce to eat and they will give you free food. Since you are the last ones going home you can find great deals or free items from other stands at the end of the day. I lastly learn so much about food and farming while working there which is great because i am very interested in natural food and homegrown etc.

A Typical work day on non-market days, were cleaning the entire market, cleaning the windows, popping the floors, scrubbing the toilets, stocking the bathrooms of essentials and getting the market ready for open days.

On market days, it included going around making sure everything is clean, clearing off tables, sweeping the floors, and constantly changing the garbages. Providing information to people who had questions about the market. 

The hardest part would be on hot summer days, having to be outside all day making sure everything was clean.

The most enjoyable part was seeing and meeting new people every single day.

The Farmers Market is a morning market, so my shifts started at 6:30 am and ended past 4 pm. Long hour shifts have helped me learn how to stay busy and productive throughout my day. Also having to setup and takedown the companies display alone has helped me learn how to work on a timed schedule efficiently. The markets friendly environment greatly helped improve my attitude towards dealing with customers.

A typical day at work would consist of making coffee, refilling the pops in the fridge, interacting with the customers and giving orders to the cooks. I also helped the cooks directly as well, such as bringing the necessary items to them, putting topping on top of the sandwiches, etc.

I learned many things, such as how to handle the cash machine, how to deal with different types of customers and learned the general pace of the work by itself.

Once I landed the job at the specific vendor, I was very happy and grateful being that it was my first ever job. However my management was always very annoyed with everyone and sometimes snapped at you for making the slightest error. How ever when things did go smooth it was bareable.

Working at the St. Jacobs market was a great opportunity for me to develop a great work ethic and new skills that I use in my current job. Through this job I learned how to work with money, deal with customers, work with other employees and handle stressful situations.

Great fast paced environment, with friendly co workers and management. The most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with all of the customers and helping them with their needs.

The job is only on weekends and they expect you to be there at 5:00 sharp. In the mornings, business is slow but you start to pick up the pace once more people trickle in the afternoon

this was a really chill job they paid you 100$ per day depending on who u work for standing all day can get tiring but the envirement is great i really enjoyed it.

Fun and interactive. You get to talk to people all day and interact with people from different backgrounds. We sell vegetables straight from the farm.
