What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
My experience with the leadership was very poor. In my opinion, the management is ineffective and creates a work environment that feels chaotic and unsafe. The most significant issue is the lack of consistent direction from the top. The administrator seems to frequently change decisions and directions, which makes it impossible for staff to do their jobs effectively. One day we are told to follow one protocol, and the next day it's changed without explanation. This constant flip-flopping creates confusion and low morale among the staff. Furthermore, the management team does not seem to provide any real supervision or support. From what I've observed, managers are often absent or unavailable when issues arise on the floor. This lack of oversight, in my view, creates serious risks for both employee safety and the well-being of the residents, who deserve consistent and attentive care. It feels like an accident waiting to happen because there's no one truly in charge during critical moments. I hope this feedback helps the organization make meaningful changes, as the current situation is very difficult for those who are trying to provide good care.

Employees are not able to make decisions, not pleasant environment in my opinion

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
always short staffed, shifts are not set and vary (days , nights and evenings can be scheduled in a two week period), weekends off are unheard of, numerous errors with payroll and scheduling

Working as a Registered practical nurse at the lodge is demanding! Most of the time no one will help you with your work load even if their workload is light. Your current scope of practise is not utilized, which could be easily directed and cost efficient for the home.  You tasks involve mostly medication administration. There is no real collaboration between ADOC/Rn/RPN/PSW/activation staff. It’s more of a click culture  and at times you feel your walking on egg shells. The residents and family demands can be stressful, yet very rewarding. Some real genuine friendships can bond between staff and residents. Overall poorly managed nursing issues which could be easily resolved causing ongoing problems that continue on a daily base. 
Scheduling is an ongoing issue, which creates back stabbing among staff. Shift work and weekends. Questioning paycheques is an ongoing issues. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents are amazing to work with. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The frustration from lack of communication and assistance from management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is horribly competitive. Felt like I was in high school dealing with jealous girls and cliques.  Everyday was a fashion competition by management.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would go in happy and usually came home in tears.

The lodge pays fairly well for the area, but other than that, it’s not great. Complete disconnect and sometimes open hostility between management and staff. Overwhelming workload and disgruntled full-timers make the shifts almost unbearable. Don’t ever expect full time work, they only have 40 FT positions. Can’t move between departments without being penalized in pay. If you don’t LOVE your residents you will not last at this job.

Worked there for four years, very good environment and rewarding. Would recommend to anyone as good experience getting into healthcare. Staff very understanding of new employees and helpful. Management can be difficult at times, which is the same anywhere you go, but overall extremely helpful. Lots of shifts available if you're willing to work them.

this is the worst place to work, employees are overloaded with work, management is always finding ways to make their employees upset, you have to watch your pay stubs very carefully or you end up being shorted almost every pay. safety there is a joke, they don't care about the residents, let alone their staff.

Employed with SLL x +6 months, very clicky work culture, poor communication (was never provided a company email), little time engaging with management and generally poor overrall experience. On a positive note, they were accommodating with my schedule given I had a second employer at the time. 

As a PSW I work hard everyday to give the residents the proper care they need and to make them feel like they are at home. I love my job more than anything and the people I work with well, they're amazing. We give everything we have once we step out on the floor to begin our shift; we put our hearts on our sleeves and rally together to get things done.

Management was approachable and helpful.  Loved working there, most nurses were helpful and the residents were amazing. The actual work was very physically demanding which in the end burnt out your mind and your body.

The residents were amazing..... coworkers were pretty good! So much drama and very stressful and not very rewarding! Everyone complaining about other people’s work ethics and no respect from certain management
