1.	⁠Keep a running list of projects/tasks you finish. Keep a list of ALL of them. You can cherry pick your "achievements" based on which ones you feel are most substantial. Keep in mind you'll likely have to speak about why you feel those are substantial.
2.	⁠Save every bit of praise you ever receive from a co-worker/manager/client via email or other forms. Put it in the same folder as your achievements.
3.	⁠A word about shortcomings. People get really weird about the whole weakness/shortcoming. As a manager I already know I didn't hire a team full of supermen. Just let me know what you think you could have done better over the previous year. One year, I went over on a project by about a month. Mostly this was because there were incessant meetings where I had to explain myself and they took up nearly 50 hours of my time. I resolved to work with the stakeholders of the project less, but communicate more effectively so they wouldn't feel they were necessary.



I am a former team lead at the agency, the office management constantly blames the front line staff for issues they create. There is no guidance and very little support from upper management, and you are thrown into your position and expected to be absolutely perfect. The upper management spends no time at the houses or with the clients, they are only concerned with themselves. Very very toxic environment. You will work above and beyond for this company, get put into endless hours of training and will never recieve so much as a thank you from the management. You would be far better off accepting a job from similar agencies in Bonnyville or Vegreville. Also they will ask you in your interview if the "occassional 12 hour shift" is okay, without telling you that every shift is 12 hours. They don't pay overtime and have staff working over 24hrs in a row. Please please please save your mental health and turn this job down. 

I've worked for a number of reputable organizations and agencies over the past 15 years, and I must say that this agency offers a lot of opportunities for those seeking long term lateral and vertical career growth.  The agency’s program portfolio is very comprehensive and with a constant focus on innovation through people development.  The team is surprisingly diverse, especially for a rural organization, and the tenured leadership team is quite progressive in approach.  For job seekers looking to accelerate their careers with a well established, reputed rural employer, this agency  is well worth the look.

Worked there for several years.  Many educational and advancement opportunities.  
The workplace culture is amazing.  They recognize their employee's efforts and celebrate their successes. I was very proud to be a part of such a dynamic team.  Innovation is at the fore front with this organization.  
Always felt supported. They were very understanding  if I needed time off for family emergencies or my own health.  
I've had many, many rewarding experiences working at SPAN.  I was made to feel that I had made a difference in the lives of the people we supported.  I would recommend working there if you are looking for a rewarding and meaningful career.

Front line staff and supervisors are not appreciated enough within this agency. The amount of negativity and gossips within the upper management is outrageous. If you think outside the box you get in trouble for it, if you stay inside your box you’re not contributing enough. Either way you don’t win and there’s no room to advanced. Many front line staff are interested in becoming supervisors but immediately turned down by management before given the chance to prove themselves. 
Clients are no longer the number one priority right from the top. 
It’s sad to see the agency only cares about the funding.

I had good working relations with my co-workers which made the work environment positive. I learned a lot about my role and the industry as a whole. Dealing with management was the biggest challenge. Senior management is vindictive and unprofessional. Workplace culture includes hard work, and team work. The hardest part of the  job is dealing with management. The most enjoyable part of the job is interaction with clients and making a difference in their lives.

This company is absolutely amazing. 
Great support from management.
They offer great benefit. Retirement saving plans.  
They are amazingly understanding about any situation.
They support team work and encourage all staff to bring any issues forward so they can be addressed. 
The agency itself has an ideology on person centered goals for both the clients and the staff. 
There is tremendous room for growth. 
The agency helps you become a professional by putting you through training courses and other education opportunities.

There is no two days the same. It can be a fast paced environment at times.  I have had opportunities for advancement and continued education! I truly enjoy my job. I like working as a team and there is always the opportunity to try something new. St. Paul Abilities Network serves a lot of people with disabilities in a variety of capacities. I truly enjoy my job, culture and work environment !!

easy and steady work,very relaxed. nothing to complain about the workpalce except the management who would never listen to staff. its all about making profit for them. no increase,no incentives no bonuses. no staff appreciation or acknowledgement  that would motivate the staff to work harder. and if you are against their system then you're Out! you have no voice in this agency.feel bad for the clients and the staff.

Typical day at work is helping clients get to work or appointments. Definitely learned patients. Management does not consider front line staff they micro manage and treat front line  staff very poorly. Company is very top heavy. It is definitely who your friends with for any advancement. Hardest part of the job is dealing with the management. Loved dealing with the clients.
