St. Phillips Bakery

I worked as a cashier, is a fine job for students with a good amount of hours. My only complaint is the management, owners are rude and not helpful at all and are constantly yelling and fighting in the back. Also, as a cashier it was extremely frustrating that I always had to scavenge for change because they would never leave enough change in the till the night before. Did not make any sense to me as they know they are busy and we will need change to give customers. I would have go in the back and constantly have to ask the owner to get change out of the safe for me but sometimes the door would be closed and I would be stuck as there was a huge line of customers waiting for me and I couldn’t give any change back.

Overall my typical day at work is I would go in count the money in the till and then I would multitask cooking foods as well as helping out customers with those foods and a lot of them are pretty picky then do the same at the end of the night, but it was overall a really good experience just wasn't my type of job that I preferred for a long period of time but it was quite interesting.

It is a very fast-paced job however with much practice and repetition, any employee can master the job of a barista or server.  The managers are understanding and supportive.

Great bakery with amazing food. Learned to work not just as cashier but how to serve food to people, how to help order cakes, bread and pastries Can be a bit congested in regards to working in centre but overall good.

Management is bad, owner is disrespectful, nothing is organized, schedule is a mess, everything is wrong. Workplace culture = toxic, hardest part of job = a day without getting yelled at

if you're looking to gain some experience in a high paced environment this is definitely the place. It's non-stop customer service and product knowledge. Love the people and the envionrment.

High turnover of staff.
Poor management. 
The owner is extremly RUDE and IMPOLITE. He can yell at staff or even a customer in front of everyone. Working here you have no benefit, no staff discount.

Fun place to work at. Learning a lot of different tasks 
Management are easy to get along with and coworkers are alway willing to help if you have any questions or need help

Not a great place to work. While the other coworkers are nice and friendly, the management is not. They will get on your back when they see you not working just for a second. 

Really good first job for someone, provided well hours throughout the week and also paid good. I think my starting salary was around $12. Only issue is that it is hard to be moved up.
