The compensation and benefits are competitive, which is one of the main positives of working here. However, the overall work environment makes it difficult to stay long-term. Work-life balance is poor, with expectations that can feel overwhelming and hard to manage consistently. Management lacks strong communication and support, which contributes to a stressful atmosphere and low morale. There is some job security, but opportunities for growth and advancement are limited. The workplace culture could also use improvement, as it doesn’t always feel supportive or positive. Overall, while the pay is decent, it doesn’t fully make up for the challenges in management, balance, and workplace culture. Unfortunately Team Leaders are not unionized so they are pushed out rather easily and are given work that is not part of the job description.

The work that st amant does relies on grants and gov money to deliver their services. Low pay leads to low motivation to go above and beyond.  People will work for a few years and then move on to higher paying jobs. The people supported are very nice and the job is very fun with the proper supports. Often no additional training/education required or provided for staff working directly with persons supported. Hard to retain staff and feel motivated to want to do more than the bare minimum due to high turn over, low pay, over worked, and lack of training support. 

I got assigned to work in the community and the work environment there is a big learning curve especially as you start with only some overlap training with senior tutors and you work right away on our own. Had to adjust also with all the child care policies while learning how to perform the job properly.
The management is alright, you only get to meet your whole team once a month for clinic meetings and your manager and the rest of your co-workers once in a couple of months.

I think that the division of St. Amant that I worked strives to provide outstanding services to all of its clients while at the same time providing excellent benefits and pay for its employees. Managers were approachable and supportive of employees needs and concerns. They always try to accommodate employees requests. 

The work itself is a beautiful thing. However, if you are wanting to pursue change for the individuals supported, this may not be the best choice. Too many managerial barriers and a soft approach render it easy for poor workers to create and maintain negative habits such as sitting on their phones during work time and ignoring instruction and mentoring. The role of Keyworker is too vague to describe, and you will not be paid enough for the work you do.

The core values of st.amant are shown throughout every section of the building. You may get a couple people who will go overboard but it still is a great time. The people that you work with are always willing to lend a hand and work with you. Your supervisors are always willing to take a step beside you instead of in front, actually being able to speak to them. It is a very good place to be.

Lack of leadership and support.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic. No work/life balance. Constant calls from staffing. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Supporting those living in the community with day to day tasks.

A typical day at work includes working with a variety of people for the benefit of clients and their families. It involves supporting them through challenges and celebrating successes with them. I have learned to celebrate each success that comes along. I have been lucky enough to be able to work with a dedicated team of individuals.

The agency is mostly about looks and “the corporation”. Funding mainly goes to how this agency appears to funders and the public. If you don’t fit the image you will likely not go anywhere here.  Too bad it used to be good.  
Management in the community service area is unskilled / unprofessional.
  Go here if you want to be micromanaged.  

Management claim they will work with you and help you to succeed at your job and give the residents what they need, but they never will. It's a struggle to get the help you need and they are always working extremely short staffed putting more work on the heavy work load you already have
