Unsafe work practices in shop mixed with a go go go all day production pushing.
Wages are very low for shop workers as well with no yearly increaces or reviews
but they are getting tools instead using our money.
False promeses of reviews never are fullfilled.
Uniform must to last two years or you will work in your own clothes.
We tape our uniform at the point that is 80 per cent tape covered.
Must to be very carefull in order to not have an accident; and if you do have an accident company put cero money to complete your lost salary.
Washromms and lunch room are cleaned once at week only and is very nasty.
A nice thing they have is if you ho to jail when you get out your work is waiting for you. That is very nice!

Stargate departmental foremen are some of the worst I've worked for.  When I was new (first month) and still training doing things such as asking for assistance or clarification were not allowed and I was often scolded by my foreman and or lead hand for asking for clarification on the proper execution of my tasks.  upper shop management has 0 understanding of welding, or of any of the work that is done in the shop.  You should only work here if you have 8+ years of experience in the aluminum trailer industry, and are ok with no career advancements for the first 20 years of your time at Stargate.  

This place is a joke, they are so disorganized, constantly moving people around. People get hurt because health and safety is a pathetic and the company doesn;t want to spend the money to get things fixed. Door to bathroom has a glass pane that is broken and has been for over a year. No bandaids or first aid kit. Pathetic benefits, so so pay. The general manager two-faced and is rude and obnoxious right to your face and behind your back .  Stay away, you do not want to work here. You will regret it.

I have worked here for four years and it is the best job I ever had. It is a manufacturing plant so production is important, the people here are great and we are like family. I make a good wage and they have trained me how to be a welder. Benefits and RRSPs too!!!! Ignore the haters, nowhere is perfect.

This place is so unsafe. The workers are not treated like people. The general manager is uneducated and terrible at his job. He sits on his fat butt in his office and does nothing but gossip about employees. It's a family run company who have no idea what the general manager is doing. Staff constantly quit because they aren't treated fairly. The constantly ignore labor standards laws. If you need a just for now job work here, but otherwise don't waste your time.

Company is making aluminum trailers and steel boxes for straight (DZ) dump trucks, management wants production, but  the welding machines in my time were old and nothing worked, getting a new welding tip is adventure and little things like that, it is a primitive company, nobody cares about the welders health

Since the new CEO arrival,  management has changed. It is now a way better place to work and we get a lot more recognized for the work we do. It is a good place to seek for higher position sincec the advancement in the company is promoted. Good work/life balance is promoted.

I’ve been working with Stargate a little over three years and I feel it is Great place to work. It is a great environment and everybody is friendly. It is a  fast paced environment and you are always doing something, there is Always something new going on. 

It’s nice to be part of a great family run Canadian manufacturer. 
They just introduced a pension and I’m looking forward to working my way up the ladder. 
I’ve been here 3 years and I feel that it is a great place to work. Everything they promise has happened. 
This is a great company To work for if you are competent and eager to learn.

Unsafe work practices. It's all about production and not about the people. It would be a good place to work if the guy in charge was a decent person who cared about his employees. HR is trying to help. No RRSP. Benefits are low. Most of the people who work here are unhappy. company is old school.
