I worked as Credit Analyst in Corporate Banking division in State Bank of India (SBI) . My key responsibilities includes:
Mapping of loan proposals on a SWOT analysis grid to ascertain the underlying viability.
Analysis of financial/ operational strengths & weaknesses by analyzing financial, business, management and industry risks.
Assigning internal ratings & assessment of credit worthiness of the corporates.
Credit appraisal of corporates for working capital, term loans & other structured products.
Preparing & presentation of proposals to Management Committees for sanction/ approval.

SBI is the largest bank of India and is listed in BSE, NSE and LSE.
I worked there around 9 hours per day. I learned financial appraisal skill in order to determine the credit worthiness of the borrower company.

I used to work with Chartered Accountants and Management Trainees and it was great fun working with them.

The most enjoyable part of my job was that every time I used to appraise new company and industry which made my job challenging and interesting.







It is a good place to start your job in Canada. But it’s not like the Canadian banks. It’s bit different. Work culture or mentality is like when you work in India. The top positions are always given to people from India who think they are very much superior to you in every way. Imagine how anyone would treat their boss if they work in Indian government sector. They expect the same treatment and you are obliged to deliver.

The Bank has prescribed so many circulars for the benefits of staffs and employees but when it comes to availing them the Management will make the staffs suffer.We have to beg for every little benefits we can claim.Things will be kept pending in the HR deptt for a long time…so much so long that one will gt tired following them and essentialy just quit.

My work was to handle the reception work. I learnt how to welcome and interact with customers in a warm and friendly way. Co-workers were helpful. Hardest part of the job was to handle difficult customers who were rude too. The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with different interesting people.

The bank has one of the largest work-force in the world. I worked in its USA Head Quarters  as well as in its New York branch. Excellent work atmosphere conducive to productivity and job satisfaction.

When my first day in currency chest room. I learned how to handle cash. I managed the cash currency chest. The workplace culture is cooperative and helpful for me. The collection of cash from various branches in late hours. The most enjoyable part of the job was to satisfied the customers.
