I have worked here for almost a year and I find it to be one of the better places I've worked, they make safety a priority and are constantly making the improvements to make the workplace safer and move more efficiently. Management shows that they care about their employees and are understanding towards medical conditions and family emergencies. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else, I like that I can touch base with my superiors about progress reports and to see if I can improve on anything or even get trained on new things and gain more responsibility within the company. I like that management is approachable and understanding and I enjoy that the company has good benefits and a competitive wage, I feel comfortable working here and hope to be here for many more years. There's also bonus incentives if were hitting our target weight goals and since I've started there's been numerous times where management will facilitate a hot meal for all the employees and provide something for everyone to have for lunch from someplace like Swiss Chalet, or Chinese Food. The work culture is wonderful and the employees make an effort to make you feel welcome to the team and are amazing team members. 

I enjoyed my time there, would still be there if I hadn't got fired. They seem to hire a lot of people then let go of people all willy nilly and then hire more people. 

Management is a joke, they're never on the same page. Often they would tell you a lot of stuff needs to be done within the next couple of hours meanwhile they've known it needed to be done by a specific time at least 24 hours in advanced. 

They talk about how easy it is to move to different areas of the factory if you don't like the job you're doing, this is not true at all.

Considering I was making minimum wage before I was employed here, the pay is good. Only reason it seems low is because the benefits, from what I heard, were really good. Better than Toyota.

They like to favour certain people. A worker ended up breaking production for pretty much the whole day fooling around. One day suspension. I've seen some people call into work, not bring in their required doctor note and nothing happens. Others in the same situation get up to 3-5 day suspensions.

Aside from all that, everyone there seemed pretty chill which made the daily pretty good.

I learned about different grades of steel, and that the trainer who trained me really shouldn't be training. 

The trainer thought i was racist, so instead of addressing his concern, he childishly decided to drum up bad training reports on me, thus ending my employment. I found this all out over a year later when i bumped into him at a local bar and confronted him about it. He admitted to it and apologized. As much as i appreciated the apology, it still doesn't get me my job back.

My co-workers didn't have a care for anything BUT cranking out the numbers. They constantly down talked the company and its' management.

There were no hard parts to the job, it all ran well.

There was nothing i found enjoyable about it.

Typical day of work is fast paced to catch up on last minute orders and orders that came in over night.

Learned how to deal with tight time restraints.

Management was ok, however there were several harassment cases against some particular people.

Co-workers were helpful, nice and reliable to keep the job safe and clean.

Hardest part of the job was to deal with the time restraints and management.

Most enjoyable part of the job was the other non-management workers and the always available overtime. I always loved to take an extra 15 hours a week of work to have some extra spending money.

Hello everyone out there. I started at Steel Technologies Woodstock in October of 2008. And was working on the slitter line with packaging finished steel coils and assistance throughout the slitter lines in the plant. I had a very great attitude towards working and helping there. I worked there for 11 years. Started at $13.40 and finished at $19.50 I had great work ethics and a punctual individual.

Been here since 2017, and I have say I'm shocked by how laid-back this establishment is. While it can be a good thing i some instances, here not so much. Many employees stand around doing little at all while management has given up tring to get them into working shape. Safety rules are somewhat followed, but not sufficiently.

money was good and plenty of overtime. great benefits package. good work goes relatively un noticed and lots of in fighting and backstabbing from those who wish to advance but don't have the proper work ethic to do so.

This company was amazing, everyone was nice all supervisors/bosses were easy to talk to and got along well with everyone.

the only reason i left this company was to move to a different city, if i didnt have to move I would probably still be working there.

Terrible working environment. Was trained by a coworker who did not ensure I understood the work, was bullied by a supervisor for not understanding the work and ignored me when I asked to be shown how. Don't waste your time applying here.

the guys are easy to get along with, the wage makes life difficult in every aspect. in order to make your pay worth it, long hours of overtime are required so theres is not much of a life outside of work.
