Stepping Stones Daycare

Typical day of work include: taking care of children's  hygiene, cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner, feeding them, reading books, organized crafts, play and excursions. Solving problems and providing first aid as needed. The hardest part of my job was responsibility for their safety. The most enjoyable part was a smile on children's faces and pleased parents. Management always was ready to help and provide professional advice and workshops. The job gave me more experience with dealing with all kinds of problems in today's care for other people.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part is helping with the kids,give love and  care that they need in the absent of their parents and play with them.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Stressful is working with attitude colleague and feel like boss.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is good and we respect different culture inside the day care.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everyday is good and fun playing with kids.

 I didn’t like the environment at all, at either location. Management didn’t seem to know what they were doing and very unprofessional. A lot of code violations and other unsafe practices. It won’t be long before something goes wrong. Lots of gossip from management and staff. The pay was low with no benefits. 

I did not work onsite with stepping stones I ran my own dayhome so some of the questions were not fitting. I loved running a dayhome through stepping stones because they would find me the children and handle all the finances so i wouldn't have to go after the parents for my pay.

The board has no clue how to run a non profit organization. The work place culture is awful and management does nothing about it. Workers have been constantly quitting all year.

The turn over is so fast it is rediculous. I worked there temporarily. They were friendly at first but kept giving me terrible split shifts. Minimum pay for what you are doing. Not easy to advance. 

Do not reccomend. 

I have learnt a lot from this job. The management team and my co workers were awesome to work beside. Overall i had a great experience here.

Good place to work for your first job ever. Great for young people. Coworkers overall nice and easy to work with. Would recommend to other but the pay isn’t realistic to live off of. 

Being able to work with the children and the little moments you share with them are unforgettable. The workforce has a lot of workplace drama between staff.

busy environment with a lot of noise . you learn a lot about children and how to help them manage the barriers that come with developmental disabilities.
