Quality, educated, training, safety, PR skills, advancement, teamwork if your looking for any of these you came to the wrong place, if u like be treaded like a dog, criticized, highly stressed and worried hourly if you still got a job well take a walk threw this revolving door of employment, sterling is the right place for you, as a journeyman they rather u don’t show up they only want your ticket for the books and dislikes paying your rate, if your apprentice they probably don’t have enough journeyman to sign off so expect a 2 or more year wait to get your next level or hope the apprenticeship board cracks down on them again, quality well it’s not about that there looking for speed! screw it if the customer has leaks later they will make money on the service calls, be nice if they bought there material in Manitoba instead of Saskatchewan just to dodge paying Tax in a province they are working in and support the local economy, need hard wear to do your job well that’s easy do it the sterling way and learn to steal! drywallers have lots of screws, I wish this company make like a flock of birds and flock off back to Saskatchewan.

Work environment is great, people and better and respectful, upper management is garbage, and literally everyone is underpaid Sterling plumbing and heating is definitely a company to stay away from if you want to feel valued and appreciated for hard work if you want to feel under appreciated and underpaid and completely unclear if you’ll have your job in a week this is the place for you as they hire new people all the time you’ll train them for them to take your job. Apprentices are left without journeymen to fend for themselves and journeymen are extremely over worked,There is no overtime ever and I mean ever

The people. Guys working are really great to work with.

The heat. Or cold. Working in extreme weather 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was like every job. Some days great some days not as much. It’s what you make of it. But they always looked after the guys. And made sure we got what we needed. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
7am-3:15pm. Working on multi story building. Or small commercial buildings. Hard physical work. But rewarding.

There is always a lot to do at Sterling throughout a day so having nothing to do is never a worry. Management and owners are supportive and treat those that work hard well. As with any workplace there is always someone you don't jive with but everyone is professional and strives to push the team forward. Pre-Covid christmas parties were a great time to catch up with co workers and relax.

Nothing to be stressed about. As long as your enjoy your work and the people around you.

this is  a  place  that  the  door  is  always  open  in  the  morning  but  if  ta    so  has  a  bad  break  up  late  at  night ,  watch out , he  is  a  project manger  that  should  never  be  on  site  and  let  the  formans  to  do  there  jobs ...walk  on pins  and  needles  ,, also  not  much  tools  they  want  you  to  supply  all  tools  and  consumables,,  when  you  gety  2nd  years  running  and  3 rd  etc  and  the  plumbers  cant  get  there  there s  a problem

This is a very busy and fast paced environment with room to grow and develop my career. They have paid for my education and raised my salary once my schooling was completed. If you can handle pressure and thrive in busy setting then this is a workplace you will enjoy!

Good place to work, learned alot in a new field of work. Loved the people, and the Managers were very kind to me.  Always helful if I had a problem. ONe of the CEO would always make sure teh office had everything we needed and the team in the Project department was ver cohesive.

I would strongly recommend Sterling to anyone looking to work with them. They were organized, professional, effective communicators, had clear expectations, and they worked hard and produced an excellent finished product. I can not say enough good things about this company.
