A typical day at work:
Most of my day involves fixing mistakes made by colleagues, as my boss doesn't train or coach new employees. As a result, experienced employees like myself are left to handle errors. This adds extra pressure and makes the day more hectic than it needs to be.

What I believe I’ve learned:
I’ve learned how to problem-solve on the fly and how to adapt quickly to changing situations. However, I feel like this has come more from necessity than actual guidance or training from the company.

Management:
Management is poor, even on a good day. Many of the managers have been in their roles for too long and make decisions based on their own opinions rather than what's best for the team. While they cut hours and resources, it doesn’t affect them, as they still get paid the same.

Workplace culture:
The CEO is the strongest leader, but the overall culture has weakened, especially since the merger of the management teams last year. Initially, I had hope that things would improve, but by the summer, it became clear that old habits had returned. The culture quickly deteriorated, and morale dropped when some old management team members returned from leave. 
The culture in my opinion is weakened by Operations Manager R, Sales Manager B, and the Marketing Manager B. They are often not approachable, and you can tell they are paid the highest for little to no work they complete on the committees I am
Involved in. 

The hardest part of the job:
The physical demands of the job take a toll, especially when it feels like our work isn’t valued compared to the office staff. We’re the ones doing the labor that pays their wages, but they’re often in the smoke pit or chatting in the lunchroom.

The most enjoyable part of the job:
The people I work with are great. My colleagues make the job more bearable, even when the culture and management issues make it tough to stay motivated. I used to enjoy interacting with the office staff too, but since the spring, the atmosphere has shifted, and many of the key employees have left.

A typical workday starts with a meeting to discuss tasks and review safety protocols. Most teams talk about the specific duties and any potential hazards associated with the day's work which shows the company's commitment to safety.
I've learned the importance of being careful, especially with equipment. Following safety guidelines is important. Every day offers a chance to learn something new.
Management is supportive and strict about safety. They ensure everyone has the knowledge and tools needed for safe work. Open communication is encouraged, building trust within the team.
The workplace culture is one of respect and teamwork. Colleagues help each other, creating a positive and motivating environment.
The hardest part of the job is handling the physical demands and risks of working with heavy machinery. Being involved in training and safety is key to preventing injuries.
The best part is the sense of accomplishment from completing projects, with support from colleagues adding to the positive experience.
Although there are always challenges, the supportive management, positive safety culture, and learning opportunities make it a rewarding job.


In the time that I’ve been at STS I’ve learnt a lot and even as a female doing a “mans job” I have earned the respect of many of my coworkers. My experience has been nothing but positive. My foreman and manager have encouraged me to keep challenging myself. The guys are always willing to lend a hand when needed. The job is centred around teamwork we all work together to achieve one goal which is to build Trusses to the highest quality possible. The job can be frustrating at times but we work through it to find a solution. You can always ask your lead hands and foreman for help and they’ll be there to show you the ropes. Overall I enjoy my work knowing I’ve made another customer happy.

This review is for Forma Steel Trim Shop. The leadership at Forma Steel is exemplary…supportive and inclusive. They create a positive work environment that encourages open communication and fairness. The work may be somewhat repetitive, but the camaraderie among machine operators makes it engaging and sometimes challenging . This company has a forward momentum that is exciting to be a part of! 

There are a lot of awesome people that work at Structural Truss. Once you get to know those you work with everyone enjoys joking around while still getting the work completed. The physical demand here is fairly high, but your body gets used to it and it ends up being a great workout. There is plenty of overtime during the busy parts of the year which make the pay cheques awesome. There are also plenty of BBQ and company events to keep you full and happy. I really enjoy working for this company.

Good company to work for, seem to genuinely care about keeping employees happy, even though the work can be physically demanding and repetitive. Some supervisors are better than others, you’ll find that anywhere though. The company is growing and overall management is good they just have to realize they aren’t a small business anymore and start to do things in a better way. Steady work, year round, inside, regular pay increases. Pretty great overall

This is one of the better company I have worked for. The supervisors is really on top of things and making sure that people are respected and cared for. While the work might be physical and hard the reward is worth it. There are a few people you work with who have a poor attitude, but the good ones out number the bad ones. The only reaons for leaving this job was cuz I moved

Structural Truss is a great place to work, I have enjoyed my time with the company so far. Managers are extremely passionate, and want you to succeed. The company has a lot of programs to help their people, and help learn or improve skills. The pace is fast, and parking is limited but that problem should be fixed soon. 

This company genuinely cares about its employees. Is the work hard and repetitive? yes. Do you get paid well? yes. I like the team work and the training you are given. The areas for improvement would be management fairness, they seem to have favoritism issues, and if this was fixed this place would be 5/5
