Student transportation of Canada goes above and beyond to protect the students get them back-and-forth to school and just support the drivers.
The dispatch is incredible. I’ve never worked for a more cohesive group of people supporting each other..
From the dispatch guiding you and directing you to the other drivers helping you at any time they can. My experience with STC was an absolutely wonderful experience and I would happily work for them again unfortunately I have relocated to a different province that STC is not working in yet. 
I would highly recommend this boss company for any school that was lucky enough to have them running their buses.
They train you and they guide you. I love STC.

After 6 years, working for Elgie Bus Lines in the London area, I still look forward to going to work each day. I have met a lot of different people that are fun to be around, meet new challenges regularly, and love the children.

Driving a school bus is a very rewarding career. Perfect for the housewife that wants some extra spending money, semi and retired people that want something to do each day, or if you just love children.

The children are what makes the job the most fun. As the old saying goes, "Out of the mouths of babes". You never know what little secrets they want to share with their bus drivers. Yes, there are challenges but well worth the effort.

Love my job and hope to be a part of Elgie Bus Lines for many more years.

The typical day is starting out early in the morning and then having a break until the afternoon run, unless your doing charters between runs. Management doesn't stand behind employees and their is a HIGH turn over within the company from Dispatch to Driver and other area within the company. Co worker are so, so and there not much interaction between drivers and other employees. The part I enjoyed the most was the interactions with the students and other passenger who rode the bus.

School bus driving is not for everyone.  You split up your day and the pay could be better.  What makes you want to work for STC is the great people in the office and the great training you receive.  The people are caring, fun and friendly.  If you want more work you sign up for charter runs like driving sports teams and school outings.  There is also some private functions that use a school bus.  

Overall I would recommend this work for anyone who is looking for some extra money.  Tell them Jan sent you!

This job is a lot of fun! the kids are awesome and the company is great to work for. I have never been so happy to wake up early to go to work! highly recommend working for this company. They always keep us in the loop with whats going on within the company. rewards at the end of the month for perfect attendance and a bonus at the start up of the next school year for perfect attendance for the entire previous school year.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I drive bus. Pick up drop off maintain good atmosphere with elementary children.

An exciting place to work, if you need to meet other life personal and professional goals. You work for 5 hrs daily, then you have the rest of the day to attend to yourself. The pay rate is good. GM is friendly and approachable, as well as other colleagues. The hardest part of the job is driving during winter conditions, and the most enjoyable is when you do the actual work of interacting with the students when boarding and exiting the bus. 

STC has restored some of my faith that some companies do care and pay attention to the needs and tools of the job.

Repairs are completed as quickly and safely as possible meeting MTO requirements 
Knowledgeable staff members 


They do not pay you for all the hours when you approach them they admit it and then they say asked to go to the higher management and they never get back to you and they do that all the time  Every time they add a new school to your route they cheat you and when you talk to other drivers they tell you the same thing so that’s why so many drivers quit. Avoid this company.

I found there was a task at hand that was often interrupted by little things. We always managed to get the job done regardless of the high amount of hiccups thrown at us as part of the dispatch team. I think universal training would benefit the team.
