This place is very stingy and tight fisted with money. Shifts are 11-2 and 4-7. Pay is minimum wage. You have three hours to finish your assigned tasks, and if you go over, you won't be paid.

Interview: Management will sneak in some unpaid training during your interview, which leads the process to take up to 1.5 hours of your time. When asked about the possibility of advancement, management stated that there are none.

Work Life: Sometimes employees are sent home early, but it doesn't balance out, as you are also required to be there, working, 15 mins before each shift. Servers are not paid for the 15 mins and it is required. I kept track and every 20 hours or so, with being sent home early, you will be doing an hour of unpaid labour. Again, required by management. This puts the servers at working roughly 30 mins for free per day if they work both shifts, which means they are making below minimum wage. When asked about this policy, management stated that the servers are offered a free lunch. But what if you work an evening shift or are not interested in the leftovers of lunch? I'm sure the servers would rather be paid for their required time and have the option to buy food instead.

Training: Inadequate. You will be given one, maybe two training shifts then management will follow you around, taking note if a mistake is made. This is not to help you, or train you as a server, but rather preparing an excuse to fire you should they want it. I was berated for mistakes, and after requesting more training on my third shift, (6 hours of employment having passed altogether) I was told that it couldn't be afforded.

Warnings: The process for a warning was similarly disheartening. After being berated for mistakes, and summarily requesting further training, which was declined, I was warned. I took management's concerns to heart, had a shift with zero issues, my section was finished quickly, only to be pulled aside at the end of my shift to be told that it had been decided before my shift that I was being let go. Why waste my time if it's already been decided? Why put me through the stress of the warning? That's one more day I could've used to search for a new job. It seems to me that management just couldn't fill my shift for that one day.

Firing: Professional up to the point where the manager stated that "you should find a different line of work, serving isn't for you." I found this to be incredibly personally insulting and it made me very angry. That wasn't something that she had the right to say to me. Sometimes people don't fit with certain establishments and that's OK. There is no need to insult someone during an exiting interview. For my part, I stayed quiet and didn't say a word from the moment I sat down. I remained professional, I don't understand why management couldn't and felt it was permissible to insult the person they were firing.

TL;DR: don't work here if you trying to learn or unless you are a pro server. Although if you're a pro server, you could work anywhere else in the city and at least get paid for all the time you work, plus tips...

A very chaotic and toxic place to work. They’re usually short staffed because of a high turnover rate, so they’ll hire literally anyone. This means that most of the staff is unreliable and miss work often, but management won’t do anything about it. There was lots of conflict between staff and everyone was constantly at each other’s throats. It was pretty much required to show up to a shift at least 15 minutes early to prepare, but our pay wasn’t adjusted to reflect this. If we had to stay late (which happened often), this wasn’t recorded either. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but it adds up. There were also many coworkers who had some of their hours recorded on different days to avoid paying them overtime. Also, you end up doing a lot more than what’s in your job description. The servers there should be paid a lot more than minimum wage.

A typical day at work is either cleaning or serving the old folks. Working with seniors I've learned alot of patience.  Some are not well so you have to be more than understanding and help out as much as you can.. the workplace environment is very nice and calm. I really enjoy working here. The hardest part of my job is room service,  because I have a hard time carrying those trays. Or bringing soups out because I don't want to burn myself.  What I get out of this job is happiness.  I enjoy serving and cleaning for people . If it makes then happy as well than than a bonus for me. Management is very professional,  productive,  and very kind and understanding.  I'd have to say this is my favorite kinda people. I have the best time working with them. They are very welcoming and passionate.

The old executive director very self absorbed didn’t teach

Relaxed the management works as a team now. We didn’t before

U name it it’s busy lots todo always find stuff to do

everyone was so welcoming first coming into this place I quickly learned it was a fend for yourself kind of environment. there was probably 4 out of 40 people I actually enjoyed working with. you got one day of training and you learned quickly 3/4 of the other very important tasks were left out. the guy who ran the building was creepy and all staff did in there free time was bully and pick on the other members

DOC and Nursing manager
work together to make working conditions unbearable. No scheduled breaks and when you do sit down for a few minutes , management is questioning you sitting down and why you’re not with a resident. Nurse speaks rudely to staff and residents. DOC  is aware of this and does nothing. Residents refuse to go see the nurse because she is so rude with her tone she uses and the short I don’t care answers she gives to health  problems. 

My typical day was working 3 hour shifts serving lunch and dinner to seniors, My co-workers were amazing but the executive director and the manager were not accommodating when someone got hurt and they basically alienated them until they basically had no choice but to be miserable where they were or to quit

I worked there for a summer after graduation and figured it be a fine place to work as I knew other that worked similar positions and had good experiences. However the seniors are down right rude and sexiest. The management does next to no training or step in when help is needed due to understaffing. 

Although caring for seniors can be a challenge, the staff work together to make it a wonderful place to work. The activities associated with celebrating the holidays are phenomenal. We are encouraged to join in and celebrate with our tenants.

This is a great place to live if ur a senior but if you work here the manegement is new and a lot of changes the gal that runs place is two faced and is rude to certain staff but nice to resident and can't believe can be so angry and mean not good to be like this
