Suds Express

I have worked for Suds for many years now, and the management has always treated me well.

During the years I was in college, they always took me back and gave me a job during the summer. Now that I am out of school, I have been given the chance for advancement in the company doing what I went to school for.

Tips are split between employees at the end of the week based on hours worked. Summers can be a bit rough due to the hot weather, but there is a hot weather plan in place so that on the hotter days employees are given frequent heat breaks. Plenty of water is provided, and air conditioning is available in the break room.

Like any other job, if you want to be successful, you will have to put in the effort. You can rest assured, however, that if you put in the effort, it will be recognized, and you will be given opportunities to advance.

A typical day at Suds Express involves being asked by management to start your shift early and stay around half an hour late. Your shift consists of cleaning car interiors and exteriors non-stop until the end of your shift (or until all cars in queue have been cleaned), after all cars are cleaned and the building is closed you will clean the building. twice a week you will have to stay around an hour after your scheduled shift ends to clean under the conveyor.

management seems very disorganized, and apathetic. you will not find management outside of the office unless severely understaffed.

The workplace culture could be considered toxic, employees are rude and disrespectful.

Learned about customer service experience. Dealt with customers being a wash tunnel attendant, kiosk attendant and a interior clean attendant. Management was good and could be helpful at times. Hardest part was working in different weather types and you're schedule and hours depended on weather due to workplace being a car wash. Enjoy having multiple positions to work on because it gave a variety and seems to be an easy going place but can sometimes be too easy going. Loved working with music in the background. Wish there was more break to have in 8 hour shifts on the weekend besides the one half hour one. Same with full time shifts during the week. It is a great place to gain experience and have for a first job.

This place is under staffed, over worked, and under paid. The management is awful and has no people skills. They don't care about employees or their personal lives, if somthing happens to you they won't care and tell you to come in anyway. If you have another job they will tell you to quit it or leave this job. They work you 9 hour 8 to 5 but always keep you till 5:40. It will be 5 minutes before your squedualed to then they will make you do 5 more cars. Vacuums never work and to cheap to fix them. If you get hurt manager will just laugh and mock you and won't bother filling out an incident report. Everything they mess up on its your fault always. Uniforms are either never there or ripped . Mental health takes a huge dip in this toxic place.

Fun and excellent place to work. This summer was hot. We always got extra breaks, there are water coolers but they still purchased cold bottles of water for everyone and some days we got milkshakes. Management is great and very fair. Everyone has a great time and we all get along. I don't agree with the odd review on here and we all know those are former employees that left on bad terms. Many former employees come back to work again and most of them come back to see us. Staff are treated with respect and others are dealt with. Nothing bad to say. All jobs had bad staff and those people have silly unjustified complaints. Shame to see some of the false comments those people post when I've worked here while they were here. 

Work is fast paced and definitely physically taxing - not a superb amount of flexibility as the turnover rate is insanely high and don’t ever have enough staff. Management is nowhere to be found 9/10x. “Moving up” is Pennie’s more to work somewhere that isn’t racing through interiors. Very strict with “procedures” you so much as sneeze out of line expect a write up. Trainers are garbage, half show you what to do and disappear off the floor. Not to mention floor supervisors don’t even supervise - they lounge around the building. If you can get past day to day annoyances and enjoy physical work its not bad. Steady hours, ok pay, but nothing extraordinary.

Suds express is managed by individuals who are too emotionally immature to put the company first. They give a 6 month probation so they can get rid of people whenever they make a peep about the working conditions (no heat breaks, petty management, zero work/life balance, denied sick days, etc.). I was once in need of the ER and was denied leaving until everyone was done their lunches. 
I’m addition to this there is lots of petty drama constantly between employees as well as management. If you peaked in highschool then suds is the place for you!

Working at Suds could be considered a high intensity job, you must have thick skin to work there as customers will do their very best to break you and make you feel like you know nothing about what you are talking about. 

The environment is a great way to unwind, we are constantly talking and joking around with each other, the employees become close friends.

Care more about numbers and time then employees. Management and company take tips given for workers actually working on the cars..You will never see a dime of your tips.  Tips are spent on managements food for management meetings as well as to the company. Blame lower employees for management issues. If you have health issues and need a short period of time off of work unpaid they will tell you to suck it up or find another job. No room for advancement and very hostile and toxic work environment. 

If you’re able to work hard, keep to yourself, and blindly follow instructions this would probably be the job for you. Not much in terms of “advancement”, you’d likely be waiting years. Not paid nearly enough for the labour put in. Lots of young people and LOTS of drama. Easy to get burnt out if full time, but might be good for students. Management needs a lot of work. Turnover rate is crazy.
