Management were often unapproachable and inconsistent in their decision-making. Feedback was rarely provided, and when it was, it tended to be reactive rather than constructive. There was also a noticeable lack of transparency and professionalism in handling employee concerns. The overall workplace culture was negative and unmotivating. There was little teamwork or appreciation for employee efforts, and communication was often poor. It didn’t feel like a supportive or collaborative environment. After leaving the company, I was disappointed to find that Sumas Environmental Services refused to provide a job reference, despite my professional conduct and contributions during my time there. This reflects poorly on their management approach and employee relations.

Never learned anything there, the owner is in your face everyday telling you what to do when he has no experience in the field and if that's not enough his son is also in your face daily. Great staff there but so under payed and there Jack's of all trades there doing and not payed for. The safety procedures and staff are a joke so many bad stuff happens there! Very ignorant management with no social skills or working experience! Would never recommend or refer anyone to work there ever!

Handling multitasking job profile includes Inside Sales, scheduling pickups of hazardous waste items from clients, co-ordinating the final disposal of hazardous waste as per Alberta Environmental Guidelines , keeping track on disposal cost, profitability and administration work of the facility. Since all these things are time bound, so at times it is very stress full to keep the tab on all of them without missing any time line.

I worked here as an enviromental tech for quite a few years, on and off.  Pay was good.  On top of my hourly, I got bonus pay for going to client jobs or project work.  I got hired for full-time work and got tons of OT work both day and weekend.  Annual bonuses at end of year and pay raise at the start of each year.  They do what they can do keep folks happy. Also, pizza lunch for each safety meeting.  And during the summer, barbecue and ice cream.  

Ownership sucks and micromanages. Pay is very low for the kind of job youre doing. Sometimes there are errors in overtime pay due to lack of experience with the people in payroll. 

This is one of the worst places to work. The managers treat the employees like dirt, and are constantly putting them down, and asking them to do life threatening jobs or else they will those their job. Many employees don’t have proper credentials, and the managers don’t seem to care. They are 1 accident away from a major lawsuit.

Excellent company with good people, strong teamwork and many possibilities to gain experience in the field of chemical waste, lab packing and transportation of hazardous materials

The company overall isn't bad to work for.
Its hard to get a raise, the owner gives raises once a year. 
its the kind of place that cares more about making money than keeping the employees happy. this is my experience anyway.

Good company to get you started in the right direction.  Constantly looking to expand service offerings and staff was close (while I was there).

They expected results but gave you the freedom to do it.

Dont give a dam bout saftey or distracted  drivers as drivers are on phone well driving. All the sales guy cares about is making  himself  money they dont care bout family. Full of stoners
