I have experienced the downside of the environmental business when things crashed in 2015 and while I always want to get paid more I know that things are tough. I also get that environmental work is not the highest paid work in the oilfield and that there are not a lot of good jobs out there. I have looked for other work but the wages seem the same when you look at everything included. the benefits are better than I had before. 

They are trying and I think most of the upper management at Summit cares for us. I have worked at other companies, my friends aren't doing well at them either. I think the security at summit is better than most. 
I work away lots but its the job and all companies make you work away. I am glad they hired me.

Spent a few years with this company. It was challenging due to the company’s inability to retain talent due to limited career growth and poor pay. Many staff use this company as a stepping stone to other industry-based opportunities that provide better pay and a work-life balance. 
The company charges extremely low rates, which limits salary growth and caters to low-risk commodity type projects primarily for junior oil companies not concerned about quality. Someone looking to diversify into other industries and work on complex projects should look elsewhere.




Overall my experience was a mixed bag. The people are genuinely great and that’s the best part of the job. But the workload, work-life balance, and stress levels weren’t sustainable for me long term.
The company leans heavily toward profit over people, and work-life balance is hard to come by even when you’re told you’ll be home regularly. Depending on where you’re based, you may end up doing a lot of extended field stints in remote areas, and the pay doesn’t always justify the time away.
You’ll learn a lot here, but it’s mostly trial by fire rather than formal training — fine if you thrive in that environment, rough if you don’t.

Grumpy and stressed out colleagues in field work with poor field supervisory skills as senior field specialist. Little to no field training; style was to have you fail, be reprimanded and learn from your mistakes. Poor middle management and guidance from direct project manager with unclear or confusing expectations. Given grief over asking for personal time off when shift is up.

Time Management with BST and Sharepoint for employees.
Inquiries into mileage questions, overtime, vacation and tax.
Inputting payroll into quickbooks and ensuring processing in a timely fashion.
Enjoyed the atomosphere and overall politeness of the staff and their kindness and generosity towards charities and organizations.

I am enjoying my job and confidence of my seniors including CEO, Vice President EMS, Regional Managers of Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Reviewing is a hard job and the hardest times are when I have to re-write the whole reports.

Minimum support and divided workplace. Profit before their valuable asset their employees, layoff seasoned experienced staff for new grads but expects them to come back once they are in need of seasoned professionals...... waste of time and personal growth with this place.......

What division you get hired in will totally dictate your experience, growth potential and/or salary. Ask questions at your interview relating to the dynamic and career growth. If company likes you. They are loyal to you. Benefits are decent. Be prepared to ride a roller coaster depending what the industry is doing.

This is a very driven company who wants to be known for their great service and valued employees and customers. Friendly staff and working environment. And they have a gym!

This is a great company to work for in many ways, 

Work life balance was great. Compensation for working at the company was above average. The people of Summit including management were understanding, friendly and respectable.
