The company is massive with lots of opportunity to grow from a yard person into an OSR or PCM.  Not much upward mobility beyond this as there are few positions and you have to "pay your dues".

The store I worked out of had a gigantic micromanager running it.  He would watch the GPS in your truck like a hawk, make sure you were at your desk not a second late or leave a second early.   In the role of OSR, you're on the clock 24/7 with customers constantly calling you.  The position isn't hourly and you should not be judged by how much time you spend in the office or on the road.  It should be solely on results.

Every little move seems arbitrary and sometimes upper management seems to not even buy into the programs they're trying to push.

As a company that tries grow primarily through absorption, if you do end up working out of  a store that was formerly a non-SBR company, there is a certain old boy's club attitude towards it.  Most management has little to no business acumen and it seems that they rely a little too much on surface metrics to measure success.

This place to say the least, over promised and under delivered on my 10 months of working there.  Everything from work day, salary and work flow was embellished.  It is unfortunate as there is a real opportunity for the company to grow and develop a sustained workforce with less turnover.

You'll be forced to do 6 weeks of useless training where you end up just riding passenger with a driver that doesn't care to train you. After that I was given a disgustingly dirty truck and expected to detail it myself on lunch breaks that could be any time of day if at all. Work culture is a "them vs. Us" mentality between the management/front desk and the shop/drivers. What seems like fun and jokes, as I later found out are recorded and used to fire you when the manager doesn't like a joke. The work is very layour intensive without a wage to correlate. Equipment is as cheap as it gets. Our branch only had automatic freightliners with questionable service history. They had the unqualified service manager do most of the work on the trucks and you're expected to keep it quiet. Most of the pick ups and deliveries feel like make-work projects and efficiency is non existent. Hours are not consistent after training and they send you home early almost every day if it's not peak season. Can not say this enough: DO NOT WORK FOR SUNBELT!!

Boundaries   between coworkers bonding and insults in the branch I worked was lost  . Different managers for sure different styles

Safety as worker , with coworkers., costumers and public . Is reminded often 
About working pressure  ? , as all the companies they have work need to be done yesterday las week  and today . Specialty in the equipment rental industry . At the end  of the day manager decides it is what it is 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Check out equipment returned  from rental  , get done the easy first  except if the next day rental call for something no available . 
Tough dispatcher some times give me at last 30 minutes to go home

Basically you are creating orders from incoming communications from customers. Also invoicing them and dealing with everything related the customer, answering calls and emails all day. Problem is, the ones you depend on to fulfill orders do not care about the customer and just focus on trying to have an easy day, therefore the customer does not typically get the order on time or accurately. Very department v. department mentality, over-socializing, not sure what anybody really does there on a day to day basis, poor company culture. Company has about 80 employees but you don't really know who anybody is or how things work because no one cares to explain to you and training is non-existent. Your work is micro-managed and keeps piling up due to non-stop customer requests. Upper management questions what you do all day and thinks you are under-worked, at least your manager has your back and defends you. 
Work here to appreciate any other job you thought was bad.

This has been the only great work experience e I have ever had so far. Had I not been head hunted I would have stayed forever! I received a $1 raise before my 3 month probation. I have found in my experience they recognize those who work hard and not those who have been there the longest. As long as you care, you put in the work and you show you’re worth the investment, sunbelt WILL invest in you as an employee. There is ample opportunity for advancement and growth and the customers are really great! It is so bittersweet that I am leaving and would recommend this workplace to everyone. I even got my mom a job within the company because of how much I enjoyed my time here. They understand those who have families and are willing to work around it. My branch wasn’t just a bunch of employees we have been a legit family. I love them all as if they are my siblings. 

Been meaning to write this review for awhile now. Worked for the Bracebridge branch for a total of maybe 10 months? Went threw 3 different managers. Original manager who hired me was ok. Other 2 were awful. Got lied to about pay. Was told I would get a pay increase in 3 months never did. Yearly pay increase was a slap in the face. The drivers are treated like trash and make 50 cents more an hour than the cashiers. They expect the drivers to work over hours with no brakes and expect you to be their slave when there isnt deliveries or pick ups. Expect you to sweep mop and change garbage in the office while they sit on their butts. Whole place is a joke. Used to be called CRS and when I quit I said the company would go under because of how poor the management was. A few months later I heard they had to sell out to Sunbelt. Pathetic company.

I learned a lot working for them. I think the company overall is great and I'd work for them again, but a different branch. It really boils down to the local management at the branch and the people who work there. I had some fantastic coworkers and they really made a big difference. It's a great place to get your foot in the door and they want to teach you, they have great resources. Company still has some kinks to work out with converting to Canadian safety standards and whatnot but not a big deal. They are still quite safety conscious, it's a fast paced environment. You want to be checking the equipment and getting it back to rental ready as quickly as possible. I really enjoyed getting to fix any defective equipment as I was there to learn. Majority of the equipment is new and well cared for.

Sunbelt Rentals is an amazing company to work for. The leadership team from the District Managers to the CEO is outstanding. They really care about the employees, it's one big family. Safety is huge, everyone just wants to go home safely at the end of the day. This company is end game if you want it to be, they invest in they're employees and promote from within. Advancement opportunities are everywhere if you work for them, but they're not handed out for nothing; you have to earn them. I highly recommend working for Sunbelt Rentals to anyone who wants a long term career, who isn't scared of hard work.

It’s a great company to work with managers always supporting and helping to achieve your goals
Good safety programs to protect workers and the best parts is coworkers helping each other 
And really working as a team 
Also good pay.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
May be no having the proper service truck set for our Canadian winter and drivability inside the Mine, but it was my first winter and hope this issue is resolved for next

Works 12 hours a day trying to be productive as much as possible but putting safety first always.

The best part of working at sunbelt was definitely the team.

There isn’t really anything stressful about the company. Your well trained your welcomed by all it’s a very stressless job.

Very safety oriented, very friendly and very comfortable especially for new people 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive punch in have a saftey talk and do warm up stretching , get your dispatch load truck if not preloaded and pre trip truck make delivery’s check in with dispatch after each deliver to make sure there’s nothing you can pick up on way back post trip and go home
