While good income, progression, and advancement opportunities are readily available. You'll quickly learn in a sales position at Sunrise that this is due to high turnover. Upper management is willing to watch client deadlines and expectations pass by, ignoring emails and other forms of correspondence, letting middle management be the scapegoat for missed opportunities and reprimanding employees in the most unprofessional means I've seen. This results in a culture of fear and leaves upper management unaccountable as they have no oversight and are prepared to lay off high-performing employees that have expressed concern, set boundaries, or escalated situations above their heads.

-No formal training is offered

-Unwritten expectation that you are on call 24/7

-It is "highly encouraged" that vacation is not taken within the first year and one week is acceptable between second and third with begrudging progression of 1 week per year afterwards. This is due to a skeleton sales crew responding to large territories that go           un-managed during sales rep vacations.

-This job does offer a fast track to career positions that similar companies would make unattainable without significant time and experience and they know it too so will dangle that carrot constantly. Make no mistake though, this is not a place to hang your hat for long, so take the connections and experience gained and transfer that to a company that respects it's people.

Summary: If your considering a position at Sunrise, be prepared for long hours but rewarding work and good experience under temperamental management that does not see you as being part of their plan for the future.

Spent a long time at sunrise. It was nice to work with a lot of different cultures and meet a lot of great people (employees). The full benefits are nice... but while there is some room for advancement the management is very poor and if they don't like you, you will know it. Lots of harassment happens here - and if it's done by a supervisor they won't deal with it or they sweep it under the rug). They try to get by without paying people when they get them to do a job that is above production. (In some cases but not all). They will take advantage of people if they have a "skill set". 

Normally you'd work an 8 hour shift but most of them your looking at +2 hrs of overtime every day, work alot of Saturdays and while that's great for money you have no time for family. It really drains you. You can see when people leave from working 6 days a week continuously they are sad, tired, but don't leave out of fear and loss of money).

Employees don't receive proper training when they are new and because of that they are faced with a lot of stress and get yelled at cause they "can't do it" then either get fired or leave. Supervisors are under paid (compared to similar jobs in the area) and put under a lot of pressure even if it's morally wrong and infringes on workers rights. 

I do not recommend working here because of the management. The are deceitful, lie and do what ever they can to make a buck even if it's treating you bad. The only good side is benefits, the paycheck and getting to know some really great people that become like family.

I worked at Sunrise as a billing clerk for about 1 year. Some things that people may want to know about the company is if you are working in the factory portion of the company, (so where the loading, unloading, packaging, billing happens) they operate 5 days a week 24 hours and about half days on Saturdays. As a billing clerk the hours are a bit strange, you can be the full time morning shift, full time afternoon shift, full time late night, part timer for 3 days of the week with the option of the working the Saturday shift. The saturday shift started at 430am and one person would be off around 10am while the other person was there until the last truck had left (could be 10am, could be 4pm). There is a bit of learning curve to the job as it requires you to be very very detailed, and you should be very quick with a keyboard as if you were to use the mouse to move around you would be way too slow o finish the job at a decent time. 
The people I worked with I enjoyed, always had a blast with everyone in the office. The ladies loved feeding me so I cant complain there. Plant managers would regularly come up and they were also very nice and chatty,

 My experience working at Sunrise Poultry was very disappointing. I found the workplace culture to be challenging, with concerns regarding management practices and a lack of support for employees. In my experience, communication was poor, and there were instances of behaviour that I felt created an unhealthy work environment.

Employee concerns did not always seem to be addressed effectively, and morale appeared to be low. Stronger leadership, better communication, and a greater emphasis on respect and professionalism would significantly improve the workplace culture. Poor management.
Lack of support and communication.
Negative workplace culture.
High stress and low employee morale.

Based on my personal experience, I would encourage prospective employees to carefully research the company and ask detailed questions about management style and workplace culture before accepting a position.

While a few coworkers were respectful and pleasant to work with, the overall workplace culture was unprofessional and often toxic. Management, including lead hands and supervisors, frequently treated production workers with a lack of basic respect and poor communication. There were instances of inappropriate threats regarding pay and treatment that bordered on violating employee rights.

It was common to be sent home early during the week, only to be required to work “mandatory” Saturdays and early Monday shifts—effectively minimizing overtime pay. Many employees showed a lack of basic etiquette, such as skipping queues and using foul language, which further reflected the low hiring standards.

Would not recommend unless significant changes are made to management and workplace culture.

U had to be a tough person to survive no kidding takes 2 weeks to get use to but those to weeks are tough I seen ppl last1 night gone the next night even a person survived 3 trucks and his women had to come get him cause he could ing do it anymore after that he was gone I really in encouraged ppl that would come I knew how it was  to be a catcher I worked at a catcher for 2 half years most farms get free pop and get freee lunches even to usually the. Farmer will go get Tim Horton donuts and coffee. Even around towards the end of December every years this one farm gives the catcher 20 $ that was cool to but yeah and after awhile to working there I stopped eating chicken lol but yeah but one thing sucked was u were only able to go up to 2 0 $ hr after that no more but if ur the foreman of the crew u go up 1 $ so 2 1 $ after that nothing .

Management could not care less about their drivers. Our loyalty bonus was cut in half (this was given out in early December) then given out in January so couldn't be used for Christmas. Instead they gave us a pay raise. Except at the end of it all still made the same money, but half a bonus. 

No communication between supervisors, and drivers. You can write faulty equipment all week long. Don't expect it to get fixed. Delays on farm is standard. The first hour is yours with no pay. Only pay delay after that. 
Concern is only for product to arrive at plant. Driver safety in bad weather conditions is of no concern.

You will make on average $75000 a year. You drive all night. Sunday to Thursday. So getting home sometime Friday. Saturday only actuall day off.

Worked as a part time billing clerk, work load and processes are bearable, people (that have been at Sunrise for years) are pleasant, typical environment for a manufacturing company with median morale. I worked with a person who insist you do everything and asks you to pretend she is not there (for training purposes) so she would not do anything but invoice. She brings and discusses her personal drama and loves to talk about her previous employment and endless complaints. Hope the manager for the department would investigate and does something about it because NO ONE will have the patience to stay and tolerate this type of behavior and the environment it promotes, at least I couldn’t. Good luck.

If you have a bubbly personality and like to engage in teamwork, I would not recommend. Don't ask questions, you should already know.  No windows in the office. Their belief is if you are not in the office, you are not working. You are at the demand of the VP of Sales, the expectation is to have your phone beside you 24/7 (including vacations) and respond promptly to his demands. Don't expect clear communication or direction or any praise. There is no incentive program or celebration of wins. Their moto is you are lucky to have a job. If you are looking for a positive environment with encouragement for growth, by pass this company.

A typical day at sunrise is that normal routine practices ,safety precaution observed when handling products.i have learned major skills like folk lift driving,operating the scale,how to drive power jacks and how to scan and correct label of products.our work place culture is every employee as a specific duties assign each day to do and its very important to ensure smooth flow target work schedule per day.the hardest part of the job is when their is rotation of work station and one is required to learn fast to adapt and operate machines on that specific position.the most enjoyable part is awarding of rewards after job well done and increase of salary its really a moral booster and makes everyone happy.
