Within the first week, I can honestly say I could see a future career here. In my opinion, two of the most important qualities a workplace can have collectively are, a good work additude along with good team work. Which everyone here greatly succeeds in! On top of those two things, the workspaces is runs very efficiently! Though yes, it does get busy at times, everyone still does their part to lend a helping hand and are glad to do so. They supply you with beginning tools and reimburse you for boots. Breaks are broken up into 3. Pay is weekly. Though there are lay offs come the winter when work slows down, that doesn’t mean you can’t get hired in the winter. Your initiative and willingness to show you’re capable and willing to prove you can handle any task on the job will ultimate determine your status come with winter season. Which is great! And even if you don’t stay on during the winter, you’re still guaranteed a position the following spring. Given that you’re a decent worker. Overall, a great place for work!

Pretty straight forward work. What you'll get out of it depends on where you get placed inside the facility. There's a couple jobs that aren't so pleasant to do or have pacing issues where you'll have to get shuffled around but if you land in a steady department and are competent that's where you'll stay.

Manager responded within 24 hours to application. Manager is on site all the time and is competent and approachable. Very responsive to any communications you have with them.

When I was there, there was some organizational issues since they were still getting integrated into the Lindsay location. For most laborers, this is mostly a non-issue and is basically just a factory floor talking point.

Otherwise, my experience was that I showed up and had work to do and I clocked out at the same time everyday and didn't have any issues with my co-workers. Pretty problem free.

Job itself is not bad and there are opportunities for advancement. Pay is decent. Management is however toxic and literally no one is secure in their positions. Loads of nepotism and favoritism. It’s all about who you are connected to in the company and challenging the powers above is never looked upon favorably. Mandatory overtime, changes in hours and loads of layoffs in the fall (which last until spring). They talk a good health and safety game but they are poor at enforcement and training. Inequalities when it comes to benefits for production staff vs administrative staff. 

Sunspace is an excellent place to work. You work very hard unloading trucks, but get paid for every hour, from the time the truck starts until the time the truck shuts down. Paid by the hour instead of by the mile. The owner has barbecues all the time for the factory. Christmas parties and every employee receives a gift. Company clothing is given to you at no expense to the employee. The rate of pay is fair and paid every week by direct deposit. All kinds of perks. The Driver Manager is very caring and the best I have ever had. She works with you if you need time off. I would still be there if my late father didn't pass away, leaving me in a bad situation. A lot of east coast customers, but only a few of them were difficult to back in to. Most were good and customers are very friendly. I would definetly go back and hope to hear from them soon. If your looking for a high paced job with lots of perks, this is the place for you. 

My experience with Sunspace has taught me a lot in terms of experience with tools and machinery. It has given me a well understanding on supervision over employees, how to reach goals and dates, responsibilities with overall production, and how to deal with being under pressure and still maintain the goals required. Management was adequate. Co-workers help make the day go by enjoyably and help with productivity. The only problem with this job is reaching the deadlines expected, which I've managed to overcome, also the hiring and firing rate, having to re-train new employees slowing production. The most enjoyable part of the job is the learning experience and the people that surround you. It is a team effort to achieve deadlines and goals, this job gives you a remarkable insight on dependability and how to work as a team.

I’ve been working for Sunspace for many years. I know the true Sunspace and its been a great experience. A real positive experience in working on the plant floor and various other rolls. With hard work and dedication and recognition from management its helped me and others in this organization to grow. Everyone has an equal opportunity here to grow and accomplish anything they put their mind to. Just have to put the effort in like any employment! This is why cross training becomes so important and employees are given the opportunity to excel and build on their skills in various rolls. It’s a seasonal business so for students who want to learn and make money in a few months its perfect. Anyone looking to enter the workforce and work in manufacturing will benefit. It’s a friendly environment which is attributed the good people that work here. I’m proud to say I work for Sunspace!!

The lack of order,ethics and professionalism in regards to management at this company is unprecedented. HR's primary goal at any company is to protect the employer, at this company they go out of their way, they are never on your side. Layoffs being part of the job description are fair given the seasonal aspect/impact, however, do not expect fair notice of such as they will inform you at the end of a working day that this was your last day worked, inform you that a call back will occur months later only to send you an email days before the expected date of recall informing that you will not be needed or that you have been fired. No reason(s) given. Appalling is an understatement. 

You can see the growth that Sunspace is experiencing and I'm sure because the growth is so drastic, it is very difficult on the owner and Management.  I have found that Sunspace has taken measures to help support the growth.
I do believe that Sunspace cares about their employees.  Of course production and quality is number 1, but Sunspace has monthly lunches for their staff and shows their appreciation with bonuses, etc.
For this large of company that isn't a global wide organization, I think they do a pretty good job at organizing the business and doing what needs to be done to satisfy the employees as well as the customers.
I've seen the improvements over the past couple of years and I can only imagine there are more improvements that will be made.

best people i've ever worked with but intentially sabotage people's jobs instead of firing them (putting them in a department they were bound to fail at etc) i was working there for more than a year, a company who takes full advantage of young people who dont have enough work exp to know theyre super underpaid. there was a point where i was doing work that totally would effect these 20k sunrooms ending result and was never paid more despite being there over a year. I quit and they never gave me my severance. your welcome for the free week of work sunspace!

Sunspace in my experience had a lot of interesting characters and personalities throughout the entirety of the 2 large buildings. Depending on which department you become apart of you're sure to meet someone that you can at least chat to throughout the day as you perform anything from mindless assembly to heavy moving and loading, sunspace gives you a good lunch once a month that's pretty nice despite the owner bragging about making however millions for the company in a month and still paying majority of 100+ people minimum wage.
