Superior Fire Control

Superior Fire Control is one of the good places to work, Biggest Downside is listening to everyone complain about nothing. Especially the medics who are spoiled , always acting as if there owed something. Superior has a great atmosphere to work in as long as your there to work and earn a paycheck. Ownership and management are great to deal with and always have an open door policy with ALL employees to communicate any and all issues and yes, they do listen. I don't understand why people say so many negative things about them as they will literally do anything for there employees as a few of us have witnessed the last couple of years. But of course generally the ones who complain have been let go or the company just didn't call them back because they have smashed there trucks up or are constantly late all the time or they think every job is there's and when they leave because they didn't get there way or the answer they wanted they try and take the work with them but of course we all know that doesn't always work in there favor. Dispatch is unorganized but what dispatcher isn't? They also have great equipment and yes some of the trucks are getting old and need replacing but in the times were in, we all should know that ain't so easy. I just wanted to say that this is a good place to work as a day rater and from what i have heard as a Fulltime employee as well.

Equipment is junk. Always something wrong with the trucks; not fixed or maintained properly at all.  Very unsafe to drive, especially for a safety company.  
Always looking for ways to save the company money at the field employees expense. 
Management is a joke. Very disorganized and has no idea how to deal with anything fairly, properly or professionally.  
At first, they will all act like you can count on them for anything and that they are there for you but don't count on it, you're on your own.  No one has your back when you need them.  You will be the first to be blamed. 
Loyalty means nothing to them.  The expect it from you but dont expect it to get you anything in return.
 Field staff gets treated very poorly.
The spitefulness of management, nepotism, dishonesty and pettiness was very difficult to deal with.  Even consultants don't want to deal with management, I think that says alot. 
Never have I worked for a company that belittles people rather than build them up and be encouraging or praise for good work.  They will however jump at the chance to tell you what you did wrong before they do anything to investigate. 
As a day rater, you should be able to work for other companies.  But once you are busy with a different company, and they need you and aren't available to them, they hold a grudge and wont work you unless they are desperate the next time.

One of the best medic companies I've worked for. Im a "day rater" but they do have the possibility of being a fulltime employee with a more consistant schedule and benefits. The trucks are well maintained, some are on the older side but they run without issues. The units are cleaned thoroughly before they're sent out to site, stocked with all the paperwork required, the equipment is constantly checked and expired goods are replaced. I haven't had any issues with dispatch, directions to site are proper, they answer when I call, and keep me on local jobs. Plus they're really nice people and listen to any complaints and actually want to help and make your work experience as good as it can be. They've kept me busy and accommodate days off, no questions asked. Definitely recommend them as an employer. Pay isn't the highest I've seen but it's hard to complain when you've got consistent work.

SFC is a great company to work for! 
Shift work depending on the activities going on per job seems to go by relatively fast.  Front end staff right down to the GM and the owner really take care of their employees! It's quite enjoyable to feel like your part of the family and not just a number unlike most companies. 
The owner throws BBQ's usually on Wednesday's for crew change.
As for workplace culture, it's a team effort and open door policy any time. 
SFC takes pride in their equipment and trucks they run. 
I've personally found if there's an issue with cross shift dispatch and or management have my back!

The company invests in their team, right down to the owner being hands on. Very professional work environment but also this is a place where you can enjoy the time you spend. Equipment is maintained well and trucks are clean. 
Jobs -most are local so you get to have a life outside of work.
Most of the jobs you go in convoy- ie) there's usually medics and air sups on your site.

Management doesn't fill you with empty promises and they stand up for their employees. 

I take pride in what I do for a living and for many reasons, to name a few: the MTC's are like the cadillac's compared to other companies. when you get your assigned truck it's always been ( in my experience) clean and properly stocked with the required equipment and work paper. 
Most of the work is local and good customers *Bonus
It's nice to have a dispatcher that actually knows how to talk to people. as well as, write down the correct directions to site. 
Office staff and management overall create an inviting atmosphere.

Being a medic in the oilfield is a very sensitive job. There are a few very wonderful things about it, but at the same time, there are very many tricky situations that with time you learn to skirt around or when there is no other choice deal with them head on. People can be absolutely wonderful and go out of their way for you, but there are always those people who will make your job extremely difficult.

I've worked for Superior Fire Control for the past 5 1/2 years, paid good no complaints. Management and HSE take the time to orientate their employees. You know a company's good when you see regular faces over the long term. Lots of the jobs are local to the Gp area, great when you have a family.

The fire trucks are something to be proud of, and it tells you something about the owner when you see him gladly come in on the weekend to help you prepare a fire truck to go out.

I do not recommend working here. It is incredibly unprofessional and harsh. The jump at the opportunity to punish and reprimand but do not provide sufficient training. They put the meanest people in charge and are constantly demeaning and punishing employees.

I've worked for many outfits in this industry and recommend you steer clear of this one if you wish to keep your sanity intact.

Worked here for a year and a bit and the office staff treated me terribly. Never got a raise, never was appreciated and if I ever had a problem with anything they wouldn’t be very helpful. Their trucks are garbage, and so is most of the field staff. If I ever needed to be switched out for a reason the office staff would make a big deal out of it. They promised lots of work but I didn’t see it. Never got put out on long jobs.
