Sweet Jesus

-they trained me on cash, cone assembly, cleaning, closing, pints, and cakes.
-my experience with management was poor. (i had two bosses) one would always complain about poor sales ( this felt like a personal jab at me to be more aggressive about upselling even if the customer is insistent on their original choice) and my other boss was always away from the booth.
-I cannot say anything about workplace culture, it was usually me alone in the store and occasionally one of my bosses will come and check-up. (whatever coworkers I had the time to meet were scolded for not leaving immedietly after I arrived.)
- hardest part of the job is having to tell my bosses I cannot work every shift they give me. I ask for 3 shifts a week they give me 4 or 5 and guilt trip me when I come to them asking for less.
-the most enjoyable part is interacting with customers, interacting with them while I'm making their cone makes a more enjoyable experience for everyone ("we're not done yet!! just chocolate sauce more and this bad boy is all yours :)" "thanks!! could you add more sprinkles for me to share with my kid?" "sure!")
-I get paid 14$/ hr but it's always a few days later then what I was told when I started.

A typical day at work would start with coming in saying salutations and diving right into work depend on shift that your taking, what i learned during my time at sweet jesus is alot of memorisation alot of awarness as to what i am doing and the limitations to the amount of space I'm taking while all at the same time not getting in the way of other workers. the environment is a very fast working environment where you have to make quick decision making while some times slowing it down in hard situations to calm down. the hardest part of the job I would say is sometimes on busy shifts trying to keep pace with the orders that are coming in. i would have to say the most enjoyable part of the job was giving customers their ice cream and seeing the reaction of excitementt on their faces.

Sweet Jesus is probably one of the most fun work environments I've been in thus far. The environment itself was always enjoyable and I loved my coworkers and management. Even on the most busy and dreadful days, I was still able to keep a positive energy because of the people I worked with. The menu is really straight forward and minimal so there wasn't too much to remember or make. Weekdays are usually the most dead whereas weekends we made the most (but that usually goes for any food spot).

My experience at Sweet Jesus was one of the highlights of my gap year that I took between finishing High School and starting my first year at University. Sweet Jesus was an amazing environment for me personally, I worked alongside my manger and co-workers who worked collaboratively. Our mangers and owners of the franchise store made sure to create a comfortable and caring environment for us. We were trained to treat customers in a calm. and cautious manner, making sure we were accommodating of their needs. Overall, working at Sweet Jesus allowed me to gain experience and expand my knowledge.

Cool place to work, but can be stressful at times. Not so much for people that don't want to work hard. If you're the type of person that likes to walk out in the middle of a shift because you don't like your job or the work is too busy, this is definitely not for you. But if you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, with a team of fun people, and still be able to be an individual and express your creativity then you'll fit right in.

I worked in a very tight kiosk during hot summer weathers without any air conditioning. We were provided a fan, but it simply circulated the hot air from the machine. 

My co-workers and I were never given fair breaks. We would sometimes work 10 hours straight. 

It had a very lax management. 

Also, there was a lot of running up and down the stairs whenever we needed to grab ingredients or ice cream for uber. It's the worst when you have a long line AND a lot of uber orders.

Generally a good place to work if you're looking for something laid back and doesn't have strict timings for things such as breaks. The only issue for this particular location was management. Was understaffed for majority of the employement and expected to be available last minute and/or on days that are requested off. Doesn't exactly respect or listen to availabilities.

Very stressful, poor management, poor workplace for mental health. 

This place was fun to work at, my co-workers are what made the job worthwhile. Customers came non-stop in the summer, I mean a line up until your shift ended, but it was dead in the winter. 

Management would implement new items without informing the staff on how to prepare or manage the new menu. 

The place was very disorganized and unpleasant overall.

All the staff were great to work with. Not much leniency with having weekends off (I worked almost every single friday-sunday). Can be fast-paced but the teamwork is good and compliant at the John .St location. A little hypocritical with what certain staff is able to do compared to other staff members... but overall a decent first, second or third job.

Always something to do, I have learned so many valuable skills and developed great customer service skills. Hardest part of the job would be having to be on the floor with one other person during a busy time. Lovely staff, clean and fun workplace.
