Switch Health

I do not recommend working for Switch Health unless there is absolutely no other alternative. I was a CSR there for a few months, and it was enjoyable at first. The call volume can be quite low at many times and most calls received are easy troubleshooting calls from elderly people needing help accessing the telehealth platform. Also, the salary, opportunity to work from home, and (mostly) kind and understanding staff was a plus. 

That being said, the negatives far outweigh the positives. Once it starts to get busy and the platform gets flooded with clients, the calls become back to back (which is not an issue in itself), but this causes a problem where clients will be kicked out of the telehealth call. The solution to this was mainly to ask the client to try again later, which would cause them to worry that they would suffer repercussions for not completing their COVID testing on time. 

This, and the poor system in place for recovering said tests and delivering them to the labs, caused multiple escalations that many supervisors were unwilling to take without a large amount of convincing. During one of my calls, while attempting to escalate to a supervisor, I was told to repeat the same thing I had already told the client multiple times (by the same supervisor). I tried to convince them for 45 minutes straight (the call ended up lasting an 1h15min). When I returned to the client to let them know I was still trying to get a supervisor on the line, they asked why my supervisor did not want to speak with them and I had no answer for them. Having once been a supervisor at another company, I was baffled by the lack of responsibility and care this specific colleague had for the well being of the front line agents. Worst part of it was that I agreed (internally) with the client that the policy causing them an issue was unacceptable. Combine that with an incomplete knowledge base and a support team that regurgitates procedure instead of answering your actual question, and there you have the recipe for the worst job I've ever had.

Things start off well. Training is 5 days and they prepare you well for your first day. However, soon after, things start to fall apart. There’s updates every other day to procedures. Which makes being on the front line of customer experience difficult. You can tell a client one thing and by tomorrow it’s completely wrong. They’re a relatively new company and it shows. A lot of their business flow and procedures are either nonsensical or redundant. On the bright side, call flow is normally light. Around 3-4 calls an hour. Management is useless if you have any client issues. They give you the same rehearsed and generic answers. Call reviews are the biggest scam as well. They’ll dock you marks off on procedures that were never taught to you or that they keep changing. Unless you’re reading from a script every call good luck with getting anything above 15 on a call review. Even with all that being said, switch health was a decent work place. The job was repetitive but pretty easy. Unfortunately even though switch health received over $100 million from the government. On March 17th out of nowhere they decided to lay off between 300-500 staff members effective immediately. All we got was a 10 minute phone call and before the call was even over all our switch health accounts were terminated and termination letters sent. We didn’t get a chance to say bye to colleagues or even save any personal files. 

not much growth or higher pay opportunities unless you are willing to work more hours. you're almost always communicating online - so calling managers for any emergencies or asking questions are all done via chat and that can be annoying if you need an instant response. can see the company slowly implementing procedures and protocols to help work flow better but it's taking a long time. you need a LOT of patience in this job. i've been here for about 1 year and i can say that there are improvements within the company. at the same time, the management can be quite disorganized leaving a lot of Customer Service Reps frustrated espeically when it comes to scheduling. submitting your availability doesn't guarantee they will give you yours hours,  holiday season many clients are angry due to late results & phone is non-stop, it can be quite stressful depending on your manager they may be communicative or completely unhelpful

The position I worked was in the Nuraing Telehealth department. It was remote- work from home. It was a great position, especially as a mom and the questionable times of the school closures, this position was amazing.
Good learning opportunity and experience to have as a nurse as well. 
As the mandates lift, of course the longevity of the remote work was questioned as this position was based on the covid testing for personal, buisness and travel requirements, and in the contract- termination may happen at any point based on need of staff. It is a shame, especially when there is much potential with telehealth virtual nursing and shift flexibility. Switch Health had brought an amazing short term opportunity to aide with the testing during the pandemic. Hopefully they branch out more with virtual telehealth. 




Off the bat they will make you feel like you are welcome and you are offered growth within the company.

You then attend your job to find you have the worst management known to man kind, like they just hired who ever and they don't care how they're treating you.

Managers were known for targeting certain people and not carrying about you or any issues you may have. Managers would write people up without any verbal or written warnings as well.

They mass terminated so many people and left them in the dark even though they offered growth and expansion during the interview and was only keeping nurse leads and managers to stay.

The nurses were amazing and some of the hired nurse leads were not qualified for the position at all.

I've never in my years of working (a total of now 15 years) have I ever encountered a lack lustred, unprofessional, unorganized and degrading workplace/company.

Great work life balance, with opportunity for growth from within.

Upper management never cared about the team. Few of the team leads/ supervisors we’re understanding of employee problems but at the end of the day management would just not care. Working conditions weren’t great as there was not even a room allocated to Switch health at the airport so all your personal stuff had to be kept in a cart beside the desks were passengers used to come for registration all through the day. No means to heat your food! And later, few employees were just fired in March because there wasn’t a need! Later in June 80% of the employees were let go as well without even a decent severance package. It was not categorized as group layoff since company didn’t want to pay much! In short, money was good but there don’t expect anything from the management or the company 

The job itself was easy. Absolutely no training provided. Coworkers were made to fend for themselves and learn from each other.  Excessive amount of micromanagement from the manager. My supervisor however was great. 
Upon hiring, EVERYONE was told that once Covid testing was completed there would be many other opportunities for us. After 3 months they terminated hundreds of us without notice. The termination was sudden and was what seemed to be a prerecorded message from an HR representative. Seemed very cold and disrespectful. Switch Health Absolutely does not value their employees. Its disgusting to treat people like this. They got their millions of dollars contract paid out and thats all they cared about. Would never work for them again. 

This organization is insane and inhuman. The management and executives only care for their money. Its a sinking ship and the executives are trying to blame each other. They dont respect their staffs, treat so badly and disrespectfully. It seems the health care staffs are their slaves and they are beggar. The salary grid is awful. Yo hardly get 150$ to 175$ for 8.5 hours shift if you are an RN and has not opted for benefits. I will never every recommend this organization to anyone. The way they treat their clients are so worst. They only want to make money but dont care about sustainability and retention. WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!

They make you do things that you are not trained for, when i asked for help the messages i got were NOOOOO or that's why i told you!!! literally i have the screenshots, they also made a racist comment in one of the group chats, i obviously didn't say anything because no one seemed to care, did not give me notice of termination of my contract, it was after a weekend and the next day i realize i had no shifts, i tried to call someone from HR, she said someone will contact me, no one did, it seems like they don't care for the costumers or the employees, they also made me wake up at 8:00am a couple of times to have an interview and they would cancel the day of or literally at the time of the ''meeting''.
I regret working for them because i did not learn anything and they never care.
