What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Don't let the brand name fool you. Joining Synopsys was easily one of the most disappointing decisions of my career. If you are holding an offer right now, you need to seriously reconsider.

From the outside, it looks like an industry leader, but the internal reality is a completely different story. The management layer is massively bloated, which makes decision-making painfully slow. To make matters worse, leaders constantly contradict each other. You will frequently get conflicting directives depending on which manager you talk to, and priorities change constantly with zero explanation. There is no real structure. Instead, teams are stuck in a never-ending cycle of firefighting, and the only reason anything actually gets shipped is because a few overworked individuals are carrying the entire load.

But the worst part is the culture. It is highly political and deeply toxic. When project milestones inevitably derail because of the bloated, contradictory leadership, the blame game starts immediately. It honestly feels like a corporate version of Squid Game. People care way more about self-preservation and finger-pointing than actually solving engineering problems, and survival usually means throwing another team or coworker under the bus.

Your experience here will be dictated by luck, chaos, and cutthroat politics. Expect the day-to-day reality to be vastly more disorganized and hostile than whatever you were told. My advice to you: NEVER JOIN!!!

Toxic culture, full of blame and finger-pointing.

Good Pay (Canada)
Some very talented people in certain areas

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Middle and upper management are atrocious. 'Management By Crisis' is the norm. Most of middle management have bee with the company for 8+ years and are tone deaf to concerns raised by staff (product, operational, etc). 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Due to middle and upper managements' penchant for waiting until crises erupt to act, daily work life was stressful in that you never knew when the next 'major fire' would break out. Poor planning and little to no proactivity added with management being effectively deaf to concerns by staff make for a stressful daily/weekly scenario. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Two extremes: A day of getting thru your sprint work or A day of fighting fires with middle management breathing down your neck.

Loved the work.  In beginning, manager provided support. However, it was clear that if my opinion was in conflict with manager's opinion then you were chastised.  Instead of allowing open discussion, he would find ways to prove you wrong.  It was a case of COPS and ROBBERS--which may work in some cases I guess.

Work was great for experience at an entry-level, in the sense that you get introduced to the full workload pretty quickly. 
That was of course at the expense of feeling like you were doing too much work for your pay-grade. 
Pay was also a bit low until it got bumped up a few times to the point where we were just about at industry standard or just below. 
Work was pretty stressful with how most people seemed overworked, but beyond that everybody was really friendly and easy to talk to for advice.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good work-life balance. Reasonable compensation. ESPP/RSU is a very good investment as the valuation is going up every quarter due to beating market expectations quarter after quarter.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Direct interaction with customers is needed often. You could be blindsided by layoffs.

Great place to work with good work culture. Colleagues are always willing to help. Growth is a bit slow though. There is a lot to learn, it is a big company. There are several areas and new tools to learn with the business growing daily.  I believe there should be more focus on employee growth and diversity. 


Good work/life balance, not competitive salary. They have a solid and steady business.
It's a good place for a fresh grad but not ideal if you are looking for competitive pay.

Good management, good company values, nice people, lots of learning opportunities. Workflow and timelines depend highly on customers. There's also the opportunity to work from home occasionally.

flexible schedule is what I like about the job however, the work load is inreasing that it became exhausting.
The manage is good and they will help you anytime.
