Experience heightend every day with multiple tasks involving Policy payments of Insured's.
Processing Insured's Monthly,Bi-weekly, and Yearly payments manually and through the Payment Remittance Maching.
I learned to investigate and correct Discrepencies with the payments, bank accounts, address changes, etc.
Management were very supportive.
Co-workers were trusted to their own time management with resolving payment disruptions also presented great team work and support.
Making sure that new information found was entered promptly and accurately, also posted for other departments.
Allowing my skill of data enttry to excel with speed and accuracy on the Payment Remittance Machine.

My typical day at work - Answered an average of 30-40 phone calls/day and directed them to appropriate adjustors according to requirements. Sorted an average of 60/day incoming mails and prepared outgoing mails from the company. (Canada Post and Insurance Courier – ICS)

What I learned - time management, organizational skills, people skills.

My coworkers - very supportive, friendly, efficient team work.

Hardest part of the job - not much to complain about. Managing phone calls was probably the hardest part.

Enjoyable part of the job - The support of employees and working as a team.

The job was ok. Part of the job was to deal with customer escalations into the Office of the President. That was fun because it meant that I could interface with both real customers and upper management and could figure out where problems were so that real change could be made. What was not so good was the fact that if someone liked you, you would get to work on the fun/interesting projects, otherwise you would have to work on boring data entry or pure analytics all the time.

I throughly enjoyed working for this company, they had a great environment and the people were exceptionally nice.  The work was varied and its proximity to downtown makes it very convenient to travel to.

Good work / life balance, competitive salary, average benefits.  Behind in technology.  Micro management sometimes in the extreme. Very little training provided.

Too many changes, a lot of duplicated task result in documentation many times over. this resulted in many changes and restructuring, evemtally led to layoffs.

A great entry level job that help you learn the basics of the insurance industry. Day to day consisted mainly of answering phones, greeting clients and processing small changes.

Please see the earlier pages. Handling insurance claims was very rewarding as I was able to help many insured that had just experienced losses in their life, including injury.

This is a fast paced job.  It requires you to be able to multi task and do many things at once.  Need to be able to speak well with customers and have good written skills

A typical day at work included among other things, writing and executing test cases,meetings with the  team leader and discussing test plans and bussiness requirement documents.
