TLC Professional Landscaping

I've worked at TLC for 2 winter seasons and 3 spring-fall seasons. Many crew leaders lack proper leadership skills, ethic, respect for women in the workplace. Culture there is crew leader does the least amount of work puts in least amount of effort makes the highest wage on the crew, 1 helper who makes a significantly smaller wage but takes on the responsibility of a crew leader come vacation time. Rest of the crew is expected to do the most work and most tedious tasks on a daily basis and is paid the base wage. This makes for a lot of coming and going of new employees. A record of everything you do inside and outside of the company is kept of you, and can and will be used against you. Wintertime work you will be expected to operate heavy machinery such as tractors with plows and Ford f250/550's for as little as 15 hours with no break times. The company is greatly understaffed in the winter as they take on too much and over work every employee. A lot of accidents happen as a result of this. The first year I worked for the company, two assaults in the work place occurred. My overall experience at TLC has been short of my expectations.

My experience working at TLC has been both engaging and challenging, in the best way possible. The managers truly want to see you succeed and will provide ample opportunities for you to improve your skillset (e.g., offering additional training, taking on a new role, etc.). I've gotten to work with staff in all 3 of the company's divisions, and everyone I have worked with is friendly and approachable. The company culture is employee-focused, this can be seen in the social events they run (e.g., East Park events, family BBQs, etc.) and the strong lines of communication between senior managers and employees. 

This company will hire anybody willing to work! if you need a chance, these guys will give you one. The office staff are extremely friendly, and the teams are generally really good to work with. Nights can be hard but if you have a nice warm set of boots and you stay dry, then this job is easy as heck and pays great! just shovelling and salting, couldn't be easier! they picked me up on the way, i was near the shop. only complaint would be sometimes they'd call saying they'd pick me up in 20 minutes at 4am, which was a bummer some nights haha.

The salarie postings for this place are comical at best Get ready to take home 2000 a month as a Senior Team leader Hope it's enough Layed off a bunch of employees for shortage of work and the same day had posted an ad saying their hiring for those very positions someone mentioned a union Beware of this place Employees who cant afford to rent an apartment managers who have no experience in the field  not very many people are happy to be here

I've been working at TLC for about 6 years now and absolutely love my job. It's a very friendly and open book kinda work place. The managment is like nothing I've ever experienced before and our office staff is super friendly and  way helpful no matter your needs including the best HR around. Would be completely happy to work here for many years to come as theres lots of room for growth.

So I worked with TLC during last winter. What I felt was unfair was I would be first in the truck among workers and usually dropped off last after the crew lead went to the yard. What I felt illegal was I was the only worker , after all others dropped off, with crew leads and being asked to help at the yard, which I did, and not being paid drive time for still working and not being paid for work at the yard.

a typical day was wake up at 1am start working at 2am shovel snow for up to 10-15 hours everyday. I learned how hard a job is but it helped me and showed what I have to do to keep a job. the hardest part about the job was the hours. Waking up between 1-3 every morning then working until every place we had was done and at that time was between 3-5 everyday.

in the winter time you are clearing snow. you may have the opportunity to use a snow blower or be in one the tractors plowing the snow. in the summer time you will be cutting grass maintaining gardens by weeding and or putting mulch down. sometimes you will be installing gardens,walk ways, driveways, pools

Could pay alot more but overall a great place to get your foot in the door. You can benefit alot from this company as they have alot to offer.  Like apprenticeships and they do help with your licence if you need one.
