Taco Time

A typical day at work for me was working 11-2 then coming back 5-10:30 for closing shift. I pulled a lot of the weight while I was a supervisor at Taco Time. I was always training new employees because they were being thrown into their shifts not knowing what to do and getting fired because they weren't being taught. I had to clean everything. The employees were very lazy and rude to one another and sometimes towards customers as well. I made all the food preparation during my night shifts because everyone else complained. It is really hard for a single person to hold together an entire store when it's not their job. I learned that you should do checks on a company before you work for them just like the company does checks on you, also that I am more capable then I thought. Now I know that I can do anything and I will excel at it. Management did not address issues that were brought to them unless it meant them having to come in to cover someones shift. The manager had a couple 3 hour shifts a week and always complained when she had to fill an employees shift. My co-worker harassed me and each other. I brought it to the manager and she did not address the situation. The hardest part of the job was coming to work everyday and being put down and called names. You should feel comfortable in your workplace. There was no enjoyable part of this job.

A typical day at work includes lots of customer interaction, cash handling, food prep, cleaning and washing dishes. I learned how to handle customer complaints, use the debit/credit machines, how to store and handle food, cook and clean. Management is awesome and very organized. Its awesome having such great leaders that you can look up to every day. We are a very close group at our workplace. We all enjoy each other and we are all very unique in our own ways. Sometimes we go out for dinner together as well so we stay close even if we aren't at work. The hardest part of the job is when it is VERY busy but we all know when its time to get serious and make sure we do our best to satisfy the customers. Taco Tuesdays can get very hectic but after our rushes we are very proud of the work we do and the smiles we put on the peoples faces. The most enjoyable part of the job is being lucky enough to have the co workers I do. We are a very hardworking group but we know when to not take it so seriously and have a laugh or two. The customers (especially the nice ones :)) are awesome as well. They make it very enjoyable and leave you with a great feeling inside.

My only problem is the management. They were not very understanding with new employees and can create a high stress environment at times. I remember I made a mistake on one of my first few shifts and was yelled at in front of coworkers and customers. I remember going to the bathroom and crying because I was so embarrassed. They aren’t very lenient with taking days off. I told my manager I needed the day off to go to a funeral and I almost didn’t get the day off because it was too short of notice. I told him 3 days before my shift. 

My biggest disappointment overall from management was when I called in sick one day, which it was the first time I had done that and since then I have never heard from them again. It’s been about 3 months and I’ve never gotten a phone call or any contact from them. I’ve tried calling but nobody answers. I was never officially fired or given my final check for a shift I worked, they just never contacted me again. I think that shows how unprofessional the management there is.

I really enjoyed my time working there, I had steady shifts of 16 hours a week (the max for my age at the time) and they were usually flexible for any reasonable requests. The employees were nice people and assisted me with any questions I had about the place. It gave me the basic skills I needed for any other jobs I acquired in the future. The average day at Tacotime was just preparing the food and dealing with the customers whenever they came to order, it was very straight forward on what we needed to do. Typically we just prepare for that day and the following day with whatever we needed such as: stocking things, cooking food, cleaning etc. The only real hard part of  the job I could think of is just when it got extremely busy it got difficult to keep up but other than that I didn't find anything to be that challenging. The most enjoyable part would probably be having the ability to make a meal when the appropriate time arose or not having any customers to deal with and be able to talk with other employees.

The typical day at work was fairly easy, cooked taco meat, made burritos, ran drive through, ran the till, cleaned and closed the store. Everybody did a little bit o everything. The tasks were fairly organized by the shift supervisors. The management was definitely not the best. For example there was  shift switch made concerning me and no body called me or brought it to my attention and afterwards, they got mad at me for not showing up. Most of my co workers were very nice people, good at their job, somewhat professional. But others were not, (ie: when I called in sick she lied about my where abouts to the manager and told him I was drunk at a party when I was in bed with the flu.) which was very unprofessional. This job definitely had its ups and downs. The most enjoyable part of this job was making the food and ensuring good conversations as well as making the customers experience a time to remember:)

To start of, I would like to tell my personal opinion about working in there was quit amazing. It was one of the best place to start working as a freshly person on any kind of job because some individuals prefer working on such kind of place, where it is easy to get in touch with everyday news. Moreover, some individuals prefer working, where they can easily express there strengths. Well, if u are one of them than Taco Time is a perfect place to work at.I hope it will be a worthwhile experience for anyone to continue there jobs life at any of the branch of Taco Time. this will be one of the decision that you will never regret. Furthermore, everyone was very friendly that i never consider working as a burden, and this was so much enjoy for me to go and meet the same working crew almost everyday. Now, i would like to end this by just saying that all which i have learned working as a Taco Time employee is always gonna help me in future.

For four years in Taco Time, I've been serving different kind of people, some good, some bad rude ones, but the things that I learned even they show bad attitude just be yourself and you'll see they will be you r regular customer and they will learn how to communicate in the right way. You need to be fast in placing and preparing the orders, so that the people in line will not get bored. Served the people with smile great them politely even you have your sway moods. Be presentable neat, that the customer will come back because of the clean and friendly ambiance of your store. But I will say that not every time that customer is always right. Sometimes you need to have some guts to answer back if you know your right. Don't be scared but never ever have arguments with them.

I usually worked in the morning shift and makes sure everything are in proper before the store open.I learned many things like cooking all the products needed & made sure that the taco store is ready to serve the customer.In dealing with my co-workers i made it sure that i am open to discuss many tasks needed to do for my employee, create a good working environment for them by coaching, delegating, guiding, training & assisting them to make their job easier for them.The hardest part is during days when some employee are sick and nobody can cover up the shift.The most enjoyable part is when we reach the target quota for our sales, and winning the contests.

Every tuesday they had this promo "Taco Tuesday" where tacos are cheap and for us it's a busy day especially where in a school canteen. My co-workers and I were uniform in terms of how we will make everything fast and convenient for us and our customers. We learned to be a team player aiming for the success. The only hardest part of the job is when there's not a lot of customer because time is ticking too slow but on the other side we have time to replenish and make back-ups for our food preparation. The best part of our work is having fun while everybody is busy serving customers with satisfactory compliment to our render service for them.

This is an okay place for a first job or just something on the side to win some extra cash maybe. The owners of the store are demanding and greedy, the hours aren't that plentiful and the pay is and will always be minimum wage. There is no opportunity to grow within the business. All of that makes it sound like an awful job but really it's just fine if you aren't expecting much other than some money. The other people working here are very nice and kind, you will most likely be able to enjoy free food (without the owner's approval aha) and have a nice time chatting with the others while also working, because thankfully they are not slackers.
