Take 5 Oil Change

A typical day at Take five would be anything but the job being done, constantly asking my higher ups to not just stand around during a busy rush but of course I got yelled at it. Management? There is none. They will tell you that you can be a manager but give you no training and expect you to know how to do anything, So far they have a 17 year old as a manager who told me I needed blinker fluid for my truck… Workplace Culture isn’t a really thing to them because when I started I told them I needed Sundays off for my religion. Nope can’t do that because I HAD to be in that day and would fire me if I didn’t show up. The hardest part of the day was being so stressed out by how poorly my coworkers and “managers” were treating me and other costumers that I had got to the hospital four times in the matter of two weeks. Due to that the owner got mad at me telling me I have “poor performance”. The only good part of the job would be clocking out to leave or the tips I would be forced to share with my “Manager” (Read the job description, it says you don’t have to share your tips)

Manger is passive aggressive. No set lunch breaks. Manger thinks he knows what he is talking about with vehicles and if it contradict what he thinks you wrong. I worked at pro oil change for coop in high school in st Thomas. Before pro oil became take 5. The way the sarnia location is ran compared to saint Thomas is night and day. Yesterday Manger almost told a customer to leave because he didn't like her asking questions. He said he was the franchise owner of the company which he is not. He is just a Manger. I definitely recommend not working here.

The procedures get more and more complicated 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is good everyone is friendly but they don’t care about you 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy non stop cars all day most days are 80+ cars a day

The work can be repetitive but knowing all roles can switch up the days from talking to customers to working hands on the vehicles. 

Some days are long but you can request not to work long days.  I got every day off I asked for sometime without less hours in the week. 

Scheduling can vary but usually you know 2 weeks in advance.

Pay was good once fully trained.

Its a good place to work if you can do the job as asked

- learned lots of different things about vehicles, hand tools & other sorts of things related to oil changes/automotive knowledge. 

- changing cabin filters on certain vehicles is a nightmare

- Worked for company before it was Take 5 & was pro oil change.

- procedures (atleast when I worked there at the time) were wack. I think since they have changed.

I really enjoy working at take 5 oil change nice place and learned new skills from expert and owners are respectful to workers as well as management , nice working environment all around 

As someone who is very interested in the automotive industry, the ammount of effort I put in on a frequent basis for the little pay is obnoxious and unfair. 

 Hours are changing frequently and the team leader is not very accommodating.

Coworkers are the main reason I’ve stayed as long as I have but the issues you face regularly do not make up for the lack of compensation.

Fast-paced environment customer service friendly, must be a team player with  positive attitud. learning new tasks at work. always a learning curve the funnest part is- time fly by because you're busy.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Customers will always be difficult

Was hired for assistant manager position, ended up being a lube tech the whole time instead due to my experience. Mentioned several times that I did not apply to just be in the basement the majority of my shifts, was told something would change and it never did.
