The Distillery Restaurants Corp

While working as a server, a new colleague was struggling to manage multiple orders during a busy shift, causing delays and stressed. I stepped in to assist by organizing their tickets, prioritizing orders, and showing them how to streamline tasks. I also handled some of their tables temporarily to ease their workload.
 The shift ran smoothly, and the colleague gained confidence in managing orders. This not only improved service for customers but also strengthened our teamwork.

The hardest part of the job was cleaning after we close and the most enjoyable part is to be there and contribute to the team

A dynamic, evolving hospitality group (restaurants, events and catering) with a unique culture, and LOTS of opportunities for growth and advancement if that's what you want. 

All locations are in the same area (The Distillery District) which makes the company feel small/family-like, even though it has 5 restaurants and about the same number of event venues.

They are also pretty busy year-round (or at least a much shorter "slow season" than most). Their patios are HUGE and HEATED (a real blessing during COVID).

This majestic restaurant located in the Distillery District is by far the  most beautiful restaurant the DRC has under its umbrella!  The staff are great to work with, the chef's creations are absolutely delicious, and the culture of the company is great as well, a real family feel to it!
As the AGM I was in charge of the daily service of the restaurant from leading the management team to success and coaching and guiding the staff, to creating a great dining experience for our guests!

Because I worked in two different restaurants of the company, I can assure they really care about their staff. The management at Cluny, even tho stressed with the high volume of people, always listened and accommodated my needs as a worker and as a human being (which is hard these days). Also as my first job in Canada, they really taught me about the work culture of the country and gave me the experience and knowledge needed for my next jobs.

I love this job is because of the great management and team player environment. I have learnt  a lot from the other coworkers. They usually share their thoughts and we had good time with ground of guests and music belong of events. We serve many wedding events almost every weekend. Again, I enjoy working this job to enhance my customer service and increase guests satisfaction.

Everything that is wrong with corporate entities is stereotypically personified in this company:
- Zero environmental protection protocols
- Quantity over quality Philosophy 
- Deceitfully manipulative chefs with toxic ambitions, with no ethics or accountability.
- Management Is laden with pettiness, double standards and political back stabbing.

I think it is best summed up by a paper they make you sign saying you will not say anything bad about the company, which means enough employees have had bad experiences to warrant it...head baker only bothers showing up for an hour a shift, so has no idea what is actually happening

To keep this short, this was my first job and it went absolutely great. It was quite easy and management and coworkers where very nice. I met a lot of wonderful people and plan to return next year. 9/10 overall and would recommend.

supportive hr department, hires many young people and trains industry professionals. salary is low, but that is expected of any corp, there isn't usually much opportunity to raise salary but a good place to get experience
