During my time at the company, I experienced significant challenges related to the work environment. The management style, particularly that of the store manager, contributed to a culture that felt toxic and unsupportive.
There were instances of inappropriate behavior, such as frequent flirting with staff, which created discomfort among team members. Additionally, the manager often isolated employees by asking them individually about any potential gossip, which fostered a lack of trust within the team.
The emphasis on achieving sales goals was intense, yet there were no incentives or support provided to motivate staff. This led to a high level of micromanagement and pressure, which negatively impacted morale. Unfortunately, the manager frequently attributed any shortcomings to the team or the previous manager rather than fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
Rather than focusing on teamwork and addressing concerns constructively, the response from management often placed blame on staff members. Despite the team's efforts, there was little acknowledgment of their hard work, and the overall approach seemed to prioritize sales figures over employee well-being.
Moreover, the company continues to expand but has not made corresponding adjustments to employee wages or support, leading to further dissatisfaction among the workforce. The lack of outreach or support when employees decided to leave the company reflected a disregard for staff engagement and morale.

The management fosters an environment of favoritism, prioritizing personal relationships over fairness in the workplace. Certain employees are rewarded for reporting on their colleagues, further deepening a toxic and divisive atmosphere. Additionally, management frequently shifts their responsibilities onto sales associates while micromanaging the team, showing little regard for boundaries or employee well-being.

There is also a troubling inconsistency in enforcing company policies, as management often exempts themselves from rules that are strictly imposed on others. Notably, managers and supervisors only begin actively working when upper management visits the store. The moment they leave, managers and supervisors stop contributing, leaving Style Advisors to handle any remaining tasks.

Despite these issues, the company provides an excellent training program for new employees, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in similar roles elsewhere. This initial investment in employee development is commendable, but the overall work environment ultimately detracts from its positive impact.

Other sales associates and the supervisors are easy to get along with.
Manegment is unreliable. 
Hours are inconsistent
There is no care for the feelings or lives of workers. 
There is no actual training you are expected to know how to handle everything on your own. 
This location is one of the worst as the shipments are never on time and the clothes sent have no chance of selling to the towns demographic and demands. 
Upper management is verbally and emotionally abusive as well as ignorant. 
There is little to no diversity. 
The incentives are not worth the effort or time. "Scoopbucks" are quite useless for part time employees especially considering a candle alone costs 40 dollars. 
The clothes are cheaply made and terrible quality more often then not you have to assure customers that they wont fall apart. 
If you are not full time do not expect to get a break during your shift despite the store almost always being slow. 
Over all it is a terrible time being there the only consistent pros being the other employees 
 


This company embodies and encourages positivity and equality for every person in their brand itself. Management talks about all of this but is completely unprofessional and unfair to employees. Scolded to act a certain way that they don't even do themselves. Cliques are formed off the bat and there is no sense of friendliness and they exclude. The Assistant manager nit picks everything, bullies and talks badly about you to other coworkers straight in front of your face. You're told one thing by your co-workers than another by management, and don't expect proper training. Just one session going over a module that you won't even finish and then being thrown in with no guidance, and made fun of from afar. No encouragement for growth, patronized for not making sales. Very prissy and entitled workplace. One of my most uncomfortable experiences by far. Hope this changes and that it's not like this everywhere else because it is a beautiful brand, but seems like this is reoccurring and hope it changes. 

Increasingly competitive despite being commission based . Lack of communication, organization and accountability. Super fast turn over rate for staff. Very catty and management forms cliques which excludes others and leaves employees with nowhere to turn when management aren’t doing their job properly/fairly. They promote a team mentality and encourage friendships with out of work outings , but in reality their ever changing expectations of staff and bias treatment and favouritism of other staff make that impossible. Talk of promoting from within but are quick to hire outside the company or promote from within out of desperation even though staff may not be qualified. Also have no HR department to report issues to. 

The company expects employees to act as if they have equity in the business while compensating them with only minimum wage. Despite my decade of experience and consistent record of substantial sales, this approach persists. The company prioritizes investing in new locations over adequately supporting its staff. In the last six months, our store has experienced two complete turnovers of employees and remains without a store manager. Our Regional Manager has shown little concern for the situation, focusing solely on sales figures. Meanwhile, the assistant manager and new floor supervisors are overwhelmed with the additional responsibilities they must shoulder. 

May be suitable for those who are used to operating in high-pressure, loosely managed environments. Not ideal if you’re looking for fair treatment, a healthy work culture, or a clear support system.


Lack of vision from the CEO and proper growth structure in the company, but there's a ton of potential to create an amazing organization.
High turnover rate, lack of respect and care to retain actual hardworking employees, only cares about opening more stores.
Poor work culture and environment where everyone is spread paper thin, no HR, no happy employees.
Upper management only knows to sing false praises, then goes behind your back to speak the negatives.

I would not recommend unless all of the above changes.

I only worked there for a couple of months before calling it quits. Both store management and upper management are rude, unprepared and just awful in general. They don't pay comission but expect you to reach individual sales goals. The  system they use to divide sales people in zones is flawed and will interfere with your "sales" . They don't carry a lot of sizes - nothing bigger than Large - but expect you to sell to every single customer that walks in, even when there's almost nothing in their size.
Overall, an awful place to work, with toxic management and terrible pay.
Only enjoyable part of the job was that at least the girls I worked with were very sweet and cool.

Honestly, working at The Latest Scoop was ace! The vibe is super creative and encouraging. You're not just an advisor on style, you help shape trends, which is so cool! They're really big on learning too - not just fashion stuff but life skills. They helped me get better at communication, handling people, and all that jazz. Sure, the fashion biz can be tough, but they’ve got your back. There were ups and downs, but it was all part of the ride. And let's not forget the team spirit - so strong. It's been a ride that's prepped me well for the future. 10/10 would recommend!
