The Liftsafe Group of Companies

Take a look at the dates of the responses from the company to these reviews, and the lack of responses to certain reviews with critical content.  This is a company that is attempting to recover from bad management decisions and a horrible work culture.  The Group of Companies has changed ( I wouldn't call it growth ). I am a current employee looking desperately for alternative work. During this pandemic it has been hard. There is no support and encouragement from management. Employees are not included in any of the discussions for targets and hitting goals. We are just told to do it. The nature of this company depends on demand from customers. The company goes from fast paced (WHICH GENERALLY COMES WITH COMPLETE DISORGANIZATION) to so slow, there is not enough work for staff. Management uses the term "Team" a lot, however, there is no Team in anything that Liftsafe does. Much of the time, employees are taking it upon themselves to work independently and it leaves many employees scrambling to figure things out. Most of the time it is a S$@& show and when things do go wrong there is no loyalty or trust, so people end up passing off their mistakes onto someone else. There is nothing fun about going to work in an environment that does not nurture and support the growth of their employees. The people are ok, but most of the time, talk behind each others back. The benefits are good, the pay is not.  It's sad that money is now the driving force of this company.  It was good many years ago, but those days are gone. 

The Liftsafe Group of Companies was acquired by The Kamic Group in late 2019, early 2020. Management remains within Liftsafe. The work environment is very negative and management does not listen to and address the concerns of their employees. There is little communication between upper management and staff. They will maintain (probably within a comment after the Human Resources manager reads this review), that they strive to provide a positive work environment and care about their employees. That is miles away from the truth. Management is too busy trying to maximize their profits that they can not see the bullying culture that has developed within the Group of Companies. If you are seeking to find employment with a company that you are valued In that you can grow with, you may want to consider going elsewhere. If you are the kind of person that is content to not ask questions, work like a dog and have less ambition, Liftsafe will be perfect for you. 

Company offers unparalleled job security, as long as you do your job 100% every day.   Work life balance is unheard of in this industry, no office o/t, flexible hours to accommodate personal time off.   Flexible work from home hybrid module.  Senior Management also offers great support on a daily basis to find areas of improvement and areas that needs more support.  

There is no micro management, and team atmosphere between field techs and office staff is very strong, it's all about getting the job done at the right time and at the right cost, with customer satisfaction upmost priority.

Yearly pay increase to match inflation, annual review of bonus structure to maintain competitive in the industry. 

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 7 years working at this company.  If it wasn't for my decision to return to engineering school, I probably would have stayed here for another 25+ years until my retirement.

The group of companies has grown a lot since I started working here. The company hires often as a result of the growth. Lots of personal growth and advancement opportunities, I have experienced this first hand and have seen co-workers also given the opportunity to advance. The management team is supportive and encouraging, they ask for feedback on what can be improved, are really open to suggestions and act on many of the suggestions given. It's a faster paced environment which I like but it may not be for everyone, if you're looking for a slower pace this might not be a good fit for you.

Asked to be on site for 7am but journeymen were often late. Typical jobs would include inspecting rigging (slings, ropes, shackles, eyebolts, etc) and crane technicians would check the electromechanical aspects of cranes and hoists. Repairs were scheduled based on the inspection. 

It quickly became really tough to really care about the work when I was tasked with "inspecting" rigging equipment, pump trucks and ladders. It was hard to feel like I was making a difference to the customer. 

I've worked for companies in the past that say they promote a healthy work life balance only to to discover their actions don't align with their words.  At Liftsafe, they not only say my work life balance is important to them, their actions back up their words.  An absolute pleasure working here.  The set clear expectations and then let you go achieve them.  If you need support, they help but never micromanage.  They believe in finding the right people and then letting them do the job.

This company has made a big turn around recently and heading towards being somewhere everyone wants to work. Management has started to really take employee's opinions and ideas seriously and this will ultimately make the company better than it already is. 

There has been some growing pains due to the quick growth of the company but these are quickly being minimized and turned around. Overall this is a positive thing and means things will continue to get even better!

When i started at liftsafe i felt so thankful too just have a job again. i have 4+ years experience as welder and I was hired as a welder/fabricator and i was given the opportunity to obtain welding tickets which i was beyond thankful and ecstatic about. Unfortunately the drama,undermining and blaming that goes on in the shop is unreal. I did nothing but try too work hard and try and get an apprenticeship and was let go after 3 months for no reason. If you enjoy your job and value your mental health liftsafe is not for you. 

Overall a good place to work, each day is unique.  Management is looking to improve things going forward with some new hires/processes.  Hopefully things improve with the changes, but it can sometimes make things difficult to know who is responsible for what.  Employees are positive for the most part and work well together and they are always looking to hire/apprentice electricians/millwrights.

Processes unclear.
Multiple companies difficult to understand at times.  
LSGC has been purchased by a European company.  The elements to a small family operation are diminishing,  it has become a numbers focus.  Constant restructuring.
The computer system is complex, can take months to be come fluent. 
The environment is friendly.  Everyone is given their own space. 
It’s fast paced with forever changing priorities and tasks.
