Management is extremely difficult to work with,  communication is poor, dismissive, and often unprofessional. Staff concerns are not handled properly, and issues are frequently minimized or ignored. Leadership shows little accountability, creating a culture where employees do not feel supported. Decisions affecting staff are made abruptly, without fairness, transparency, or respect. The work environment can feel unsafe, stressful, and emotionally draining due to the management approach. Many concerns could be avoided with a different manager who demonstrates better professionalism and respect for staff. There are recurring concerns related to management behaviour, staff treatment, and the way workplace issues are addressed. Professionalism and transparency seem to be lacking across several areas.
OVERALL WARNING :
Potential employees should be extremely cautious when considering this workplace. The ongoing leadership issues overshadow the good parts of the job and can make the experience very challenging.


TNG is a good organization to work for. Certain offices have more drama and gossip that can make shifts feel uncomfortable but avoiding it is key. There is little oversight by management which is a positive to get work done  but a negative when you need support, and there is no one to answer questions, or management do not know how to support. Management will try to offload tasks and responsibilities which means there is a constant battle and disagreement between front line and management. The interview discussed a lot of opportunity for growth, but I have not seen any opportunties. The union is strong, benefits package is frustrating and limited, but it has one of the highest wages for this line of work in the city. 

Unionized environment but the expectation was that you work days, evenings and weekends for my job. Wages /salary and job security or advancement were lacking. The overall management from middle to upper were very bougie - had no idea about frontline staff cost of living. It takes years of being on contract full time to be made regular. Organizational culture was rife with business-style cutbacks not considering quality of programming. 

Hardest part of the first job I've ever had was to shut my mouth. N just listen to others experiences. No judgement. Listen to Another approach to working with.. Peers like me ..Most important part of the job is , Everyone knows ur name.Pluse ur A teemmate N teem player..IAM humble Man .And this life changing experience is in going. for ever growing great fully..TNG.Thanks


Lots of fun, fulfillment, learning and real advancement opportunities! They do a lot of good work in the field of harm reduction. 

Word of warning. Harm reduction is a very new field and is still innately intense, chaotic and politicized due to the stigma attached to working with some of the most vulnerable clients living with dual diagnosis.

My time at TNG, CHW at Edward Village Hotel Shelter was a great experience. I learned many things and saw progress in many service user’s lives. They offered lunch and dinner to peer workers. A diverse.community and very interesting people. Each day a new learning experience presents itself. 

I was work as weekend cook in a city inishiative with TNG. My work place is terrible. There was two position for weekend cook but they never hired 2nd cook. So, instead of two have to work alone. They didnt paid me for two or extra. Week days have two cooks & lead cook was bossy. They  never clean kitchen and always complaining to management about weekend cook. I didnt get proper anount ingredients for make food. Management is not helpfull.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They do very important and challenging work, and they’re good at it.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Maybe a bit of silos, due to having locations all over the city

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellent. They want to be an employer of choice and they work hard to make it one.

The team and some members of management are great. Systems are outdated and some people in management are not friendly. This agency is too small so there’s no room for growth and no such thing as raises. Not even for those working there 20+ years. Only management gets raises. 

This organization especially childcare is not healthy to work. Hard workers are leaving. Staff are very unprofessional and are taking advantages of bad management. The job load is not as stressful as dealing with work culture. Tbh, you will not be ale to expand your career here.
