I had the opportunity to work at Third Eye Electric, and while there were some positive aspects, my overall experience was quite disappointing. As an LGBT employee with a mental disability, I was hoping to find a workplace that would prioritize my needs and provide accommodations as necessary. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I felt unsupported in this regard.

To make matters worse, there were instances where I felt targeted by certain foremen who spread rumors about my work ethic. Despite being a third-year apprentice and showing up regularly, I was given separate tasks on a different floor and made to feel marginalized. It's frustrating when coworkers don't recognize the hard work you put in, and I wish this type of behavior wasn't tolerated in the workplace.

While I don't feel comfortable recommending Third Eye Electric, I will say that there were some nice people I met while working there. I appreciated the opportunity to learn new skills and work on different projects. However, the lack of support for mental health needs and the toxic culture created by certain individuals made it difficult for me to fully enjoy my time there.

I had some dealings with Third Eye Electric 'cause I'm a construction worker. If you're thinking of joining them, you gotta watch your back and see how they treat you. My time with them was a mix of good and bad, and I wanna say you should think hard before you join.
I met some nice people while working with Third Eye Electric, but they weren't really my friends in the end. In construction, you don't know who's gonna backstab you, and I gotta say Third Eye Electric had more of that than I could handle. 

Another thing I didn't like about them was how little they paid us. Compared to other companies, their first-year pay was way lower, and that's just not cool. As a worker, I think we gotta get paid fairly for the hard work we do, and that wasn't happening at Third Eye Electric.

Overall, my time with Third Eye Electric wasn't the best, and I think you gotta be careful if you wanna work with them. Yeah, you might find some okay people there, but the backstabbing and low pay ain't worth it. If I was still with them, I'd be looking for a new job as soon as possible. Remember, some companies are better than others, and you gotta look out for yourself in construction.

Hey guys, I gotta say, I'm feeling pretty fed up with the way things are going! It seems like no matter how hard we work, we're always getting the short end of the stick. I get it, residential projects have tighter budgets, but that doesn't give the company the right to work us like dogs and pay us peanuts. We're busting our butts out there, learning and growing as apprentices, and it feels like we're not being valued for our hard work. I wish the company would take responsibility for the way they treat us, instead of blaming us for their cheapness. We deserve to be compensated fairly for the work we do, and to be treated with respect and dignity. As a 1st year apprentice, I may not have a lot of experience under my belt, but I know when something isn't right. It's time for the company to step up and make some changes, for the sake of their employees and their reputation in the community.

It is an alright place to work if you are starting in the trade, do not stay long-term, No OT, they forget about banked hours resulting in days worked for free unless you constantly remind them to pay you for that day. They do not train employees but insist they have better methods than any other company and they expect everyone to work like a J-man. They will avoid sending you your ROE for as long as possible and will try to get out of signing off on your hours in your blue book, if you have the choice avoid this company at all costs. 

It's important to take some time to figure out what's important to you. You gotta weigh the good stuff; against the bad stuff. And if you're someone who has had a tough time because of who you are, like being a person in a marginalized group, it's especially important to make sure that the company is really committed to diversity and inclusion. At the end of the day, everyone's experience is gonna be different, so you gotta be smart and think about what matters to you. No job is perfect, but some companies are better than others.

Edmonton management (foreman, PM, etc.) we’re wonderful and tried to help cater to the employee needs, but the higher ups located in calgary we’re horrible to work for . treated everyone like they were replaceable within an instant . No room for advancement as an apprentice . make you work days you can’t/ have off. No care for work life balance. Never have material ready/ enough of it and still expect everything to get done.

Not knowing what your doing sometimes but being able to figure it out

Great lots of great staff helpful people and just a great place place

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Early morning depending on day coukd have been late or or off at normally time but very busy

100% of a job that’s like other jobs. Nothing bad to say. Daily stuff. Fun and learning every day. They push because they just want everyone to succeed, who ever says  anything to the contrary is doesn’t have much experience in the industry. There’s ups and downs like all jobs in life. Nothing perfect, but there’s always perks. Learning to become something that one day you will be proud of. 

I won't sugar coat it, if you work here you actually have to work. That being said they're quite understandable that sometimes life happens, if you need a day off for a family emergency or something of that kind they are always willing to accommodate it. They will take the time to teach you how to complete a task however they expect in return that you in fact complete it and give 100% effort. 

Not a terrible company to get your first year with but don't stay long. Management is an absolute circuis, Jman often aren't even around, material shortages, often didn't even have enough ladders. If you're ok being left to your own devices for low pay it's not a bad job. Once they figure out what you're capable of they'll take full advantage of it until you're fed up, and won't honour good work with compliments or raises.
