What is the best part of working at the company?
I am writing this to warn others that the work environment here is extremely toxic, defined by a management culture that consistently prioritizes production quotas over the well-being of its people. I observed a systemic lack of care from supervisors who operate with a high-pressure, low-empathy approach, often ignoring the severe physical and mental toll the labor takes on the staff. It is a transactional and often toxic atmosphere where employees are treated as replaceable parts of a machine rather than valued team members. While it may serve as a temporary paycheck or a stepping stone for residency, the lack of support and high-stress management make it an unsustainable and draining place to work long-term. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is the relentless pressure of the production quota combined with a management style that lacks empathy for the human toll. I worked in an environment where the speed of the processing line was prioritized over everything else. When you are dealing with high-intensity, repetitive physical labor, you need a supportive team, but here, the supervisors often treat you as just another part of the machinery. The constant stress of meeting impossible targets without any concern for your physical or mental well-being makes the environment feel incredibly transactional and draining.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is a high-pressure, production-driven "grind" where the primary focus is on meeting strict quotas, often at the expense of employee well-being. Culturally, it feels very transactional; there is a significant disconnect between management and the frontline staff, with supervisors often displaying a lack of empathy for the physical and mental toll of the labor. I found it to be a low-support, high-stress atmosphere where employees are treated more like replaceable components of a machine than valued team members. While it provides a stable paycheck, the lack of investment in people makes it a taxing and ultimately unsustainable environment for anyone seeking a supportive or respectful workplace.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at the plant is a relentless, high-speed grind that begins and ends with the physical and mental toll of the production line. From the moment the shift starts, the pace is set by strict quotas, leaving almost no room for a natural human rhythm or even a brief moment of relief.

Management don't care about quality, safety, customers, or employees. Management gets a bonus at end of year based on profit and savings this has them start production before schedule start times and won't pay employees for starting before schedule start times. Most of the equipment dosen't get repaired only panted to make it look new/fixed. Bad employees who do less than nothing or even damage property get favered over employees who do their job not uncommon to see 1 employee do 3 to 4 peoples jobs because management won't get the bad employees to do their jobs. You work 2 hours overtime they will go in to there system and change it to 1 hour if you do work there KEEP TRACK OF YOUR HOURS. Employees who try to better the place like report problems (Safty conditions, falty fire extinguisher, people taking meat of floor put in customers box ) get herassed to the point they shut up or quit . One manager has told employees in public they are not need for the plant to run and they should quit  manager  did this because the employees in question didn't fear her and she couldn't fire them same manager makes fun of employees disabled children in the front office Customers have overheard her.  You get injured and are to be on light duty they don't care get back to work you got doctors note well it's not good enough. HR will lie to employees HR is company first .Unless they do a complete change of management  for your mental and physical health don't work here. 

fast paced 'assembly' line pork processing. Can be difficult at first given the live gutted pigs dangling in the corner/freezer, and some days the kill side smell wofts over to the cut side, which can smell quite bad.

The people are fun and mostly friendly, there's some activities in the break room and 3 breaks throughout the day with small events scattered throughout the year (just before I left they had a free lunch buffet from Jade Gardens)

the most difficult part of the job is getting up to speed. some days the pork is especially frozen making it difficult to cut. At 1300 pigs per day, my position (whizzer knife) was challenging as you had to trim 4 pieces for every pig (5200 repeated actions in a day!). RSI's are common if you don't stretch out daily.

Due to the repetitive nature of the job, however, it tends to drag out the days, especially if there's overtime. But if it weren't for my shoulder injury (mostly unrelated) I would have continued working there.

I wish i could give negetive star ratings for this comapany. Non unionized employees are not treated well and contractors milk the projects to the core, feels like everyone is there to steal and back stab each other. Company not keen of employee's safety and well being and just care about safety. This company cant even afford coffee for their employees. Their standards of operations are low. Management is run by people hired from the streets and has no clue whatsoever. The hiring sign on lilooet st has become a tourist attraction becaise of high turnover and frequent leaving of employees. Only an unskilled person will work here. Not for wise people. 

The company is a revolving door, they couldn't keep staff to save their lives. The managers treat their staff like trash, the staff treat each other like trash, and the drama that goes on there is absolutely revolting. Management is a complete mess, they have no clue what's going on most of the time and when they do the production line breaks down, and no one can be bothered to do their jobs unless they absolutely need to, because they don't get paid enough to care.

A job that takes its toll on your body, it has many support systems in place however so you will be able to try and improve you health both physically and mentally. Hard Labour for those who strive to do well. you will be working for a strong union which cares about you and looks out for those in it. the management is great and do what they can to make everything run smooth and help employees in need. good work environment with friendly people and many opportunities.

Typical day at work is normally hectic when employees don't show up, everyone has a station to be at every morning right on the dot of 6am.   

There is a bunch of standards working in pork plant and rules but always need to meet the quota everyday. Everyday is always a learning experience especially when you move up further on the chain. 

Co-workers can be a headache, once one co-worker notice your a fast worker they slow down so you do their work. Very frustrating!

You RARELY get full time hours. 
The place has a revoling door....for a reason.
Pay is insulting.
Too many language barriers between employees.
Lazy workers piggy back off of hard working employees.
Working there is like watching paint dry...only worse. 
Many people have a second job because of lack of full time hours. 


The workday starts at 6am. The jobs are repetitive and consistent, also very easy to learn. It's physically demanding(on your feet all day, lifting anywhere from 10-100lbs), and keeps you in decent shape. The people are wonderful to work with, often in good spirits the whole day. Management was disorganized but the employees were always able to pull through.

It's a work environment that people get shouted at. No morale booster and prioritize production only and not the safety and well being of employees. Management and fellow employees are not respectful. Lack of organization and poor management. Not the best place to work for. Only pros is they pay on time.
