Based on what department you are placed in, everyday is exactly the same at Toyota. If you are in assembly you basically learn 4 different jobs and complete them every single day sometimes in the same order. The work atmosphere at Toyota is highly depressing, most employees hate it there and make it known constantly. Many people are openly negative about the company and their unhappiness with being there. A lot of people promoted into management are promoted for the wrong reason and have communication issues and should not be in leadership roles. This being said however, there are many good people in management as well. The hardest part of the job is the negative atmosphere and the physical toll doing repetitive work does on your body (repetitive strain injury). The most enjoyable part of the job is the paycheque you receive at the end of the 2 week pay period. This being said there is a huge wage gap at Toyota. Contract Team members begin at 20$ an hour and do not get ANY paid holidays for at least 3.6 yrs. You remain a contract until you get "full-time" which takes about 3.6 yrs. You receive benefits after 3 months of working there but they do not include dental. The full rate of pay at toyota is about 34$ an hour and it takes a whopping 10 YEARS to get to this full rate nowadays. So contract team members who do the exact same jobs as full-time get payed about 15$ less and get no holidays or dental. This helps breed a lot of the negativity in the workplace. 

Working at Toyota is a lot like working anywhere else, it is what you make of it, opportunities are there for full-time team members to advance if they choose to take them. They do a lot more for their Team Members than most employers do.

I am a contract worker in this company I do more on encoding, I enter data in computer, processing invoices of delivered parts of an auto, processing receipts of goods. I file cash vouchers, invoices and other important files, and does the work assigned from time to time. I have learned time management to do my work more efficiently and to do what is the first and what is next in order to finish all my work before the day ends. The management is good, this is a big company and they are really concern with their worker and I believe, doing my part and abiding on their rules and regulation of the company will help the company more productive. My co-workers are all regular employee and I am only a contract worker but they treat me nice and I always listen to their advises. I always do what they demand me and we do have good relationship as a worker. At first, I hardly cope up with those backlogs files of the company which was turn-over to me by the previous contract worker but everyday before the day ends, I make sure to at least, lessen those backlogs. I enjoy every time we have overtime.

Great place, for the most part...
And honestly pretty good if you do your job.
Unfortunately, not much room or time available to get help, so must be able to pick up quick and self teach.
Focus on your job, don't get emotional from bad interactions with management and you'll be great.
Those that can't always handle being pushed or unappreciated at times need not apply...
If you can block it out and trust them, you can win, to a point.

I enjoyed my time at TMMC. Management and co-workers were all very pleasant to work with/for. I learned a lot about proper training and the importance of being knowledgable when it comes so safety practices. I also acquired a wealth of knowledge in the assembly industry as far as how the entire process works and how every individual process contributes to the final product as well as the efficiency of the product's assembly. The hardest part of the job was most likely switching shifts every 2 weeks, however this element became much easier with some time. The most enjoyable part of the job was most definitely the people I got to work with as well as the sense of accomplishment I got from contributing to the assembly process.

Hard physical work, stressful time limitations. Lots of injuries. So many injuries that they have their own doctors, nurses, and physio on site.
It's like selling your soul. If they decide they need to work overtime, you stay. If they decide they need to work a Saturday, you have to come in. Better cancel your plans and show up for work or you will be called into the manager's office and reprimanded.
I had a doctor's appointment during the day for a work-related injury, I told my manager and he said too bad, I wasn't allowed to go. I missed the appointment and had to pay a fee to my doctor for not showing up.
The only good thing was the pay was very good.

good pay and vacation time, but don't get hurt as toyota's management don't want you back. Finding you a new position due to restrictions placed upon you by your Doctors and specialists just doesn't happen here. They either want you back on your old line or they would rather buy you out and leave you out to dry. The opportunity to move up is hard as it is a boys club there. Its all about who you know and who ya blow for sureManagement can get away with lots of broken rules that would have a regular TM fired and walked out.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The money. Plenty of overtime which is mandatory!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Time pressure. Buzzers and bells constantly going off all the time.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Blame culture… if anything goes wrong, it rolls down hill. It is very cliquey, and very misogynistic. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long shifts, you lose half of your break because the break room is so far away. If you vape or smoke you have to walk off of the premises or go to you car, which can be a 5 minute plus, hike away.
