-Constant negative reinforcement

-Management is primarily composed of employees with no previous management experience,

-Arrive at shop
-Attend a “meeting” where none of my questions are answered
-hide or make myself look busy so I don’t get in trouble for doing nothing even though I was not assigned any work 
-lunch 
-more hiding/make work projects 
-request training 
-be denied training 
-go home

This company has Unclear policies that change constantly. The owners have. O clue what they’re doing. Employees get disciplined on breaching company policy that they don’t have available to anyone. 
I’m an experienced track maintenance foreman and Rail traffic controller from Freight rail.
 I was hired with TransEd as a “track technician” and I never performed any sort of track work the entire time I was employed. My first day I painted lines in the parking lot and a lot of the time I’d get tasked to help the facility maintenance guy that seemed to have no common sense. 
Their version of Rail Traffic Control is a joke , OCC it’s called. & they do not understand what it means to keep people safe in the Field. 
That being said, the people I worked with were great. Very personable and helpful. 
If you’re thinking of applying here though, steer clear.

Co-workers were excellent. Pay  is mid-range for the positions, so employees are not exploited financially.  Health benefits are excellent.

Too few people for too much work.  Changing policies and procedures on a daily (hourly) basis, it is hard to keep up while trying to do your job

Multi-cultural.  Friendly co-workers.  Too many non-employees making work and policy decisions

Managers are tough on workers and will abuse you at any possible chance. This job is only good for temp work or those who want to be in town. Prepare to be paid less and worked hard/abused at any possible chance

Bad organization, lack of experience and expertise.  200 people on the floor, with 200 people in the office, that cannot work well( and it does not). Backstabbing flourish. You CAN NOT advance unless you sink someone( more the merrier). 
Tones of red tape, it looks like those 200 from office(most of them)have to justify their existence. 
Pity, lots to learn, new technology, new systems.

Very pure manigment and redid most taskes that was set for my crews to do ,to many bosses and one hand dint have a clue what the other hand was doing 
No one would back there work as a supervisor I had to start only getting text no calls so I had it in writing not a good company to work for

I worked at TransEd for almost 3 years. Did lots of overtime while being on a concrete crew. It was optional. I had a lot of good times and got to know lots of other tradesmen/women with whom I still work with today on a different job. Supervision was great and set me up for success

80 plus hours per week and very little job security. Very poorly managed from the top down. So many moving parts and so many people in between who needs something done and who is actually doing the work that a lot of times much is missed. Would not recommend.

Typical work day started with safety meetings. We were given our daily assignments, placed under supervision by our foremen who ensured a positive and safe working environment.
