a good place to work at with great benefits. management was extremely understanding and employees were for the most part very close-knit, until this year when tremco started more aggressively implementing themselves into the plant. HR suddenly got less helpful, more pressure was put onto employees and management got more disorganized. They would send a manager from a different country over to our factory for a week and he would refuse to introduce himself, skulk around and then fire two people without warning before returning back home. 

We would work in 40 degree heat (on steam powered machines, mind you) with only one fan and no air conditioning. When we complained and/or went home and blacked out from heat exhaustion, they would write us up and then offer Gatorade and an extra 10 minute break. 

Our supervisors are no longer allowed to slow down the machines when its hot, and at many times if they saw that I still had extra time in between cycles they would speed up my machine an extra 5 seconds faster than what it was allowed to be at, and then slow it back down before break or before someone else took over for me. 

I was planning on possibly working at this place for years to come, however things got shady really fast and a lot of attention and detail is going to need to be put into this place and their lower employees for it to be as good as I thought it was going to be.  Also, I find it sad that I was offered a substantially larger bonus (3% of my years wage) at a local bottle depot DURING COVID lol 

(tremco, a large corporation, did not give us one this year at all for comparison) 

This was my first job after graduating and I started off doing some extrusion profile design and quoting of the same. Great experience as the job was yours from inception through tooling development and into production. 
Training provided was perhaps not as structured as it could have been but with that said I got my introduction to the rubber business here and learned a great deal. 
Division manager was someone whom I had a great deal of respect for as he challenged entire team and worked to make time spent there enjoyable. Fond memories of the entire experience.

The management group and the nepotism 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture of the people on the floor is good.  The lack of integrity of upper management results in good people leaving

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and stressful due to the high demands of the management group

My day starts with operate various types of equipment required for filling and make minor repairs to equipment.
Maintain good housekeeping standards – sweep area, clean tools, etc.
Make minor repairs to equipment.
Complete necessary production related paperwork
Participate in daily tier meetings and monthly safety meetings
Abide by all safety rules and procedures

Although my time at Tremco was fairly short I enjoyed and learned a lot from the many office workers and corporate managers that walked in everyday. Everyday there was a task that needed to be tackled such as catering for 200 people. The most difficult part of this job would probably be the labour aspect of the work, though over time I found ways to make the work easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Wonderful place to work but is poorly managed and waste a lot of money that could be put in employees pockets. The company owned their production plant in Scarborough, they sold it, then decided to re-lease it from the current owners. Then the new owners didn’t want to renew the lease after the 3rd year so around 2000-3000 employees lost their jobs

Will put to much on key individuals and let others slide.  
Lack accountability.
Motto of customer success is our success no longer applies more of what's convenient for the time.
Promotions are catered more of who you know over what you know.  So if family is there or have worked there you get a smoother ride

Management picks family members as opposed to experience, you do have a lot of down time so you will get paid for doing your own chores around your house without them knowing. Sometimes the client is misinformed not knowing what is being on the scope of work, management doesn’t follow up with client 

Management is bad, you do the work and get paid very good considering the fact you spend most of the time working from home so you get paid for nothing or you get paid for doing your house work
