Trillium Hospital

I enjoy working at Trillium and would not change it for any other job around. I love my coworkers and management is very laid back. The only downside is the fact that I am only part-time and it will be awhile before I become full-time and priority for most shifts goes to those that have been there longer then you. You have to either have a second job or work holidays and weekends in order to have a better paycheck.

A typical day of volunteering at Trillium hospital ranges from dealing with different kinds of people to transferring patients to various floors. I learned how to function in stressful situations, and developed a genuine sense of compassion. The hardest part of the job is not being able to help as many people as I can due to my two hour time shifts. I enjoy working along side my fellow volunteer friends as we are a nice social community. The most enjoyable part of the job is the "Thank you" I get with a smile when I transport patients to their families. It truly is rewarding.

I was able to meet a lot of nice people working at Trillium Hospital.  I typically go in and go to different departments and retrieve patients and bring them to Discharge.  Some days I am on the phones and call up to all different departments to see which patients are ready to be discharged.  I don't find any of the qualities of my job at Trillium to be hard, the most enjoyable thing for me is getting to interact with all the people that come to the hospital and all the people that work there.  I learned many things by doing the phones as well as bettered my customer service skills.

That was my first co-op. 

I learned a lot from dedicated doctors and preceptors. Worked very hard and enjoyed every day. From supplies prepare, checking crash cart, hooking up the vary patients including inpatients and young kids to venous transfusion, observing each tiny changes when patients were working on treadmill, communicating with other departments, making the professional reports etc. 

I made a deep impression on the team leader.

A typical day consisted of going to my section where I worked(Day surgery), and helping the nurses with what they needed such as organizing clinical equipment. I learned more about the medical and nursing jobs which was the reason I wanted to volunteer there. There was not really a hard thing to do in this experience but the most enjoyable thing for me was the kind words of appreciation I get from the patients I take care.

I love the management very professional understanding team.
They work with the workers are great at problem solving in emergency's example short staff  equipment failure.
Staff in the dietary are wonderful to work with always helping each other no one is ever left behind Always asking if you need help to finish a job.
That also goes for management.
One of the best dietary departments I have ever worked.

Morning shift starts way before  5 am for me, as I get prepare for the day ahead.  First semester of encountering with patience as a RPN, I have nursing experience from previous work/ life experience.  Reviewing patient assign to kardex, assessment and move forward to implementing plan of care.  Reporting any changes to the team. Just as we got the hang of the rhabilatation department the contract ended.

A typical Day at work would consist of intervals of medications, appointments, and patient conservation throughout the day. The management is supportive and tries their best to provide the employees the necessity required to work. Friendly workplace environment. The hardest part of work is dealing with difficult patients.

Great place to work with friendly staff. A constantly changing environment that is dynamic and challenging. Open 365 days with round the clock shifts available.

My most enjoyable day is when all of us work as a team to accomplish one goal. Help is always available when needed. Staffs are friendly based on the department in which I work.
