Pick a time and start working as long as you want whenever you want.  Some days you'll sit for hours even all day and no orders.  Moving around spots sometimes helps.  The app shows you what places are in demand for orders.  Customer support is probably one of the only few helpful things through the app despite having to pass through annoying useless AI.  This job is difficult as some days you'll make $6-$10 or some days you'll make $100.  The fact that the company doesn't provide an heat insulated bag is pathetic and cheap.  Drivers are dependent on customers tipping instead of the company paying their drivers a livable wage.  On top of that, car maintenance will take a toll if you do not have a reliable vehicle.  Anything that guzzles gas, don't even bother with this job.  Honda Civic/Toyota Corolla will be your best friend for doing this kind of work with smaller engines.  If you do not buy a bag for food restaurants will refuse to give you customer orders and you will have to cancel the pick up and call customer support to be compensated for your time.  More and more restaurants are demanding drivers have bags.  If the company provided one, this wouldn't be a problem nor is it a requirement upon signing up.  I am not paying for a bag when the company is too cheap to even provide one.  The hardest part of the job is probably the first few hours, that'll probably pay to top up your gas tank at most.  The rest of the day is sitting around waiting for an order to show up.  This is an amazing job if you do not like human interaction or are socially award and simply do not like talking to people.  Peak times are lunch and supper if you want to make more money however I prefer early mornings when people are getting ready to go to work.  Apparently 3-4am shifts are very popular as well.  There is no management its' simply talk to customer service through the app and hope for the best.   Honestly, if you aren't getting at least 2-3 orders per hour just pack up and leave.  Not worth your time.   I've learned that the company doesn't care about their drivers.  There's no workplace, just you and your vehicle. 

I really enjoy the flexibility with being a courier. Being able to work when I'm able not having to worry about being late. The more effort you put into delivering the more money you get.

I enjoy biking around the city delivering, getting paid, and getting exercise while I'm at it.

The pay considering the hours worked is pretty decent and can be above the minimum wage(not consistently though)

You are paid weekly or when you request it during the work weeks.

You don't have to be social with the restaurant or the customers. Just pick up and drop off.

With flexibility there comes certain drawbacks that are both personal and out of the courier's control.

Schedule; depending on who you are you might have a difficult time setting a schedule. 
Weather; when the weather is bad like snowing or raining, on a bike you can't work as well or at all. You can but not recommended.
Opportunities; Sometimes you'll have dead days where there is no guarantee that someone in your area will be ordering.
Communing; If you're on bike, it's a real hassle biking uphill or to areas where a vehicle should have been used.

Overall, the strong flexibility of the job is what keeps me returning to the job.

A typical day at work is quite dynamic. I usually start by checking emails and responding to urgent queries. Then, I dive into meetings and discussions with team members to track progress and plan tasks. The work involves a lot of problem-solving and finding creative solutions.

What I believe I've learned is the importance of adaptability and effective communication. In a fast-paced environment, things don't always go as planned, so being able to adjust and communicate clearly is key.

Management is all about leading by example and empowering team members to take ownership of their work. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.

Workplace culture is very collaborative and supportive. Everyone is open to helping each other out, and there's a sense of camaraderie.

The hardest part of the job is managing priorities and deadlines. With multiple tasks and projects running simultaneously, it's challenging to stay focused and ensure everything gets done on time.

The most enjoyable part is seeing the impact of our work. Knowing that our efforts are making a difference and contributing to the organization's goals is very fulfilling.

You cannot choose the area you want to work in. You can start where you like working - close to home? But you might be sent some places you do not like to go, which can be very dangerous. Also Uber does not have good navigation - they will send you to the alley of someone’s house when there is no way to get to the persons residence from there.

The company doesn’t really care about their drivers. So don’t expect any compensation if you get hurt while on the job. THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE AT ALL. I fell down a flight of stairs once and was told - that’s your problem. We don’t deal with that. Then they suspended my ability to drive - “Because I was in an accident”. I was not in a car accident, it was a physical fall down a stairs. I had to call them and correct their mistake.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
First, the wage per hour is too low, especially there is a fat chance for customers to pay tip, relying on the wage itself cannot help us make a living. Besides, the support of drivers becomes AI instead of actual support personnel, which makes it more favourable for unreasonable customers to get their complaints verified and drivers are then punished on what they did not do wrong.

It is free, any person can take tasks at their own pace.

Waiting for orders at potentially frequent areas, after verifying the approximate location of the restaurant as well as the major intersection of the customer, get the order from the restaurant, verify the contents of the order before confirming getting the order with the app. Deliver the order to the customer, either message or phone the customer to notify them to pick up

As an Uber Eats driver, I have been impressed with the platform's ease of use and the number of delivery opportunities available. The app is user-friendly and straightforward to navigate, which makes it easy to accept and complete orders. One of the best features of Uber Eats is the flexibility it offers in terms of scheduling. As a driver, I can log in and out of the app whenever I choose, giving me the ability to work around my other commitments.

In terms of pay, I find that Uber Eats compensates drivers fairly. I appreciate that the app provides clear information about the expected earnings for each delivery, including tips. Additionally, the payment process is seamless, with drivers receiving payment directly to their bank accounts.

One area for improvement would be the communication between drivers and customers. While the app provides information about the delivery address and any special instructions, it would be helpful to have a direct line of communication with the customer in case of any issues or delays.

One of the key benefits of delivering for Uber Eats is the flexibility it offers. I was able to choose my own working hours and work as much or as little as I wanted, making it a great option for those seeking a side hustle or part-time job. The app itself is easy to use, and the instructions for each delivery are straightforward and easy to follow.

However, the pay can be hit or miss depending on the time of day and the area you are delivering in. Some days I found myself making a decent amount of money, while on other days I would have to work longer hours to make the same amount. Additionally, there is wear and tear on your vehicle, and you have to be mindful of traffic and parking regulations.

Overall, if you're looking for a flexible side gig and enjoy driving, delivering for Uber Eats can be a great option.

I don’t recommend driving for this company because they try to control how many hours you work claiming it’s a glitch in the system. Untrustworthy.  When you try to contact them they repeatedly provide the same answers and don’t remedy the problem.  I have been unable to login to their app whenever I want for almost 2 months now.  That is not a professional way to handle a problem which directly affects the delivery times of drivers.  It’s a good way to loose drivers because they need to work and will just look for a more reliable delivery job elsewhere.

The big one in the Gig Economy. You can work whatever hours you want, log on, log off whenever. Great for work/life balance. That said, the income can be very dependent on when (and where) you choose to work. You can accept or decline trip requests as you wish. I'm doing it by bike. (as are many) Was able to make great money during the COVID lockdown, but once things got back to 'normal' the income dropped off quite a bit. The deliveries started to pay less and tips became much more rare. Now making about 40% less than when the lockdown was in full swing. It's work with no benefits, no vacation pay or holiday pay. There are other caveats about working with Uber but if I mentioned them this review would not get published.
