It's a relatively nice company that focuses on safety and trying to keep an open communication with everyone. It's a management company so dont expect to learn that much because everything is subbed out. So you are basically a glorified laborer to do all the miscellaneous task with some occasional general carpentry and some finish work if you are lucky. If you are someone who really wants to learn a good foundation 
of carpentry then it's not the company for you. But if you want to be a good laborer, a potential superintendent or you have enough experience and skills to be a foreman but want to chill a bit while getting paid well with good benefits. Then it is a good company because they say are trying to be more philanthropy to the community. For me, it's feels like a office job but for tradesman on a tools.

This company is so transfixed on small, unproblematic issues rather than fixing the big overbearing problems. People clearly communicate their needs to management, management acts like they care and will not do anything about it. They’re confused why employees are leaving after not paying enough, dismissing the work staff does and enabling a toxic culture. If you’re a favourite of management, you can get away with nearly anything. Otherwise management will have talks with you regarding irrelevant things like small logos on clothing. Staff keeps leaving, which continues to create increased work load for remaining staff.

Work here if you want to feel undervalued at your job! Or if you want to be stressed out and get no money! 

This company has so much potential but is so narrow minded in their vision. Management gets so hung up on the processes and “reducing inefficiencies” that it results in more and more work for their employees. The site supers have so much unnecessary paperwork on their plates that they’re in a constant state of burnout. Some of the office staff are fantastic while others don’t pull their weight at all or just straight up don’t know what they’re doing which causes resentment. It’s clear who the favourites are. Management talks about culture and balance but it’s a full blown dictatorship. Salaries aren’t comparable to industry and they don’t place employees on sites close to their homes. Opportunity for advancement is limited. Steer clear.  

Unitech offers a decent wage and benefits package for its carpenters. However, the work can be monotonous, involving a lot of demolition, cleaning up after other trades, and moving materials around. It's not an ideal place for carpenter apprentices, as they won't learn much about actual building; instead, they'll mostly be cleaning up, drilling holes for dowels, and jackhammering.

Despite this, the coworkers are generally great to work with, and the company promotes a safe working environment. Expect to be clean-shaven because wearing a respirator is often required due to the dusty jobsites, which involve silica, lead, asbestos, and other hazardous materials.

Claim to embrace company culture and that their people are valuable but don’t treat them like they are. Bunch of people breaking their backs for pennies while a handful of people fill their pockets. This company overworks employees and takes advantage of them in exchange for a golf tournament and a Christmas party. Be prepared to be underpaid and overworked here - there is an extreme lack of organization throughout sites and people are constantly leaving after a few weeks of work. Not to mention, they pay below market value…There are better companies out there that pay well and will treat you great. Save yourself the trouble of applying.

After working at Unitech for 18 months, I genuinely don't have enough good things to say about the company!  I cannot imagine working any where else.
Unitech offers a job culture that is unparalleled in this day and age, and an opportunity for growth that assures life-long careers.
My job offers competitive, fulfilling work with a plethora of knowledgeable individuals to learn from.
At the risk of sounding like a sponsored infomercial, if you are considering applying for a position (any position) at Unitech, stop considering, and do it!  You won't regret it!

Not sure how this company has been around for so long when they overwork employees, underpay and provide a benefit plan that won’t fulfill your needs. $1250 is not enough for all year round expenses. It’s clear no one knows what’s going on and upper management makes all the decisions and they have no time to get to know their staff. Why can’t I speak to my superintendent and get answers for my questions? Why don’t I know management? No code of ethics, no rules. Just a lot of exploitation. 

I start with the company in 2019. 

I must say they take pride in the buildings they build and treat their employees as a  family. If you are willing to work hard then they are the company for you.

It is a great experience working with this company, They so far thought me lots. great boss's to work with. treated employees with respect and made sure there was a safety procedure at all times. co-workers always there to help if needed.

Overall not the worse company to work for decent pay and hours but don’t have much room for growth….superintendents friendly and but the growth potential is low…. Had a good interview over the phone and in person but end of the day u can’t sugar cost the job it’s hard work and the pay does not match……

Company is to spread out and causes people to have to drive far distances, company doesn't want to compensate for it. Growing to fast and giving positions of power to people who aren't ready.
