After working for Vans for a few months I was let go due to my apparent lack of following procedures and low performance. While I enjoyed my time working at the store ,the leadership team was all over the place giving no solid direction or consistent ways of operating the store day to day. Every shift I would inquire on how to do better, cover other leaders and associates shifts as much as possible in an effort to be the most effective employee I could be and overall bring a positive attitude to the store, this was clearly all in vain as the staff at the store couldn't care less about how there store was doing and only cared about getting there shift over with.

-Reviewed sales productivity on a daily, quarterly and yearly basis.
-Managed inventory based on budgets and flow of goods.
-Line reviews of current product and future innovation.
-Build all presentation documents with market data and financial results.
-Communicated any changes, sales results and new product placement with the account.
-Responsible for meeting company financial goals and client sales expectations.
-Learned how to work in a small group of individuals 
-Most enjoyable part of the job was providing a program that was successful.
-Most challenging is working with the financial expectations of the client.

Working with challenges that inspired me to grow and develop emotional intelligence especially dealing with the senior leadership

Dealing with bias interactions from senior leadership 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic when senior leadership would agree with decision making and then recant on them or hold you accountable for failing in situations that were deemed unacceptable 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and frustrating as senior leadership were making decisions that were showing favouritism

Generally speaking, staff at Montreal office are a warm, friendly bunch. The negative is that there is absolutely no upper management or HR presence at Montreal office. Everything run from HQ’s in U.S. which makes for disconnected feeling amongst Montreal staff. Communication is poor and disagenious at best. Montreal HQ offices closed spring 2023 (staff working from home) with no clear indication new location will be opened  in near future. Yearly pay increase normally done in April have been held back to late in 2023. 

The Saint-Laurent office space is beautiful and a great work environment. Although it can be noisy and difficult to remain focused in. However, expectations and workload are extremely (unrealistically) high. Work/Life balance is a real challenge for most associates at this organization. Think more work, no life...
GM and Management is weak and unorganized. Culture can be political. HR provides no added value.

All the companies that i have worked has been very intresting, i have learned alot in regards to being a top manager. Every task that i have been given i have meet deadlines. The most enjoyable part of these jobs were seeing the expressions on my co-workers they enjoyed working with me.

Very “brainwashed” management without real regard for the welfare of employees. They preach empathy but don’t appreciate managers who look after the mental health of their employees. It’s a great work environment for lazy people as it’s treated more like a social club and promotions aren’t based on work ethic and ability.

I joined the team in 2013, and I have been there for 5 years. Starting off as a sales associate and eventually making my way into the management team. I have learned many lessons in being a leader, understanding the business, and I have gained many new dear friends thanks to Vans. It truly is like a family.

I worked in large companies,but this is the worst managed company that i ever worked for.management does not listen to workers,big concern about safety issues not addressed,lot of favouritism and supervisors bully workers.management lies to workers.would not recommend this company to work for,

Great place to work. Had to pick orders 10 at a time. Then when all the orders were complete learned how to put away the products as well. When I stayed worked overtime was able to learn shipping and receiving. So I could work in all areas of the warehouse.
