Unfortunately, I was tricked into believing that this employer cares about their employees. I was told a few times, they didn't think I'd be fast enough when the summer rush hits, however, after speeding up my times and being consistent with other drivers who had been there past probation, I was let go on the last day of my probation without any reason what-so-ever. If speed was my only issue, as that was all that was ever communicated, and I complied, there would be no reason to let me go. Please listen to those that talked about the new management, as they are not lying about them. Not everyone is going to be perfect every day, but knowing that a minor delay, whether it be equipment that isn't properly maintained, traffic, locating inaccurate pins, can cause you to lose your job, you're better of looking and working for someone who cares.

Actually waking up in the morning was the hardest part, everything else was a piece of cake!

The company provided a welcoming and supportive environment where I felt valued and motivated to contribute to its success.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
driving, driving, driving and then some more driving!

Valley waste was a  fun and great place to work but new management has kinda made it not so enjoyable. Hard to keep staff due to new people coming on and getting overworked and they dont wanna stay, poor communication. Management sees it there way or no way. When people call in sick all the pressure gets put on the crew working that day, and if you don't get the run done you get in trouble for overtime. There is alot of micromanaging now so if you do somthing a certain you get grilled about it even though you where going above and beyond for a customer. 

Valley Waste and Recycling is a great place to work. Like any company that goes through massive growth in a short period of time, there will be challenges; like culture shift. Everything used to be extremely fun and carefree, but now that we're growing up, things are a little more serious! 

The bosses and owners are hands-on and are willing to get their hands dirty; very down-to-earth! Very commendable :)

Valley is by far the greatest company I have ever experienced, not only to work for but to have dealt with in general. Their owners and managers are involved, present, and dedicated. They will jump in and do the "dirty work" to help their team at any time. The communication, pay, benefits, and people are fantastic. I couldn't imagine a better place to work - if you get the opportunity, work here!

Show up grab my tablet and keys and go to work its low stress most days

This used to be a great family run company. Once they had some new management/hr come in the company’s morals went out the window.  If you stand up for yourself they will let you go “without just cause” in a heart beat.  It’s actually how they fire most of their employees now. They have such a high turn over of employees, and most of the long term employees are only in management. 

Worked there for a few years. Stayed at the same job and was told I was to advance and or get more things to do. Same thing everyday. No chance to learn even tho I was told I would progress. Raises don't happen and if they do they are very meger. Management micro mange your day and will always nit pick.

Absolutely the best company to work for in the lower mainland.. You are are a name...... Not just a number or an employee.
Best company i have worked for in my 25 years in BC. 
Left to move to another province.  This would have been my retirement job. 
Awesome people... Awesome job.  

I really enjoy working for Valley. My coworkers are great, and management is quite hands on. Its nice to see the owners/managers get their hands dirty and get out there and work alongside employees.
I feel like I am valued and supported in my role. It is a great place to work.
