Van Houtte

Van Houtte was an excellent place to be employed. the work environment was great the people and Management were great and easy to work with. I was a Route Rep. in the Windsor and surrounding area. I was working independently and was in charge of my route. It was my sole responsibility to maintain sales delivery and some minor repair to our machines.I enjoyed the independence of the position.The most difficult part of the job was the maintenance of the machinery.It wasn't very difficult but could become some what cumbersome at times.

Good place for a first job, learn a lot about coffee and working fast. High pressure situations can be difficult, and unruly customers can often be an issue at locations where there is more poverty. Management can sometimes be difficult, but usually understanding and helpful. Be prepared to smell like coffee and other bad smells at the end of your shift from all the cleaning.

The first couple years were great. Then it slowly became more and more horrible. Staff began to be let go due to downsizing which left the rest of the "team" with more work than was manageable. There was zero support from "management" and asking questions or making suggestions was strongly discouraged.

Van Houtte offered a great opportunity to work independently with minimal supervision. The company had an excellent cross section of clients to service and a very strong loyalty that had been built over many years of good quality customer support and service.

too many operations people don't understand sales!
Some good people here but  change management is very tough on them! Implemented some good sales tools but don't understand them so its a slow learning curve !

like every big company they were bottom line hungry.
I loved the customers on the road.
work load was heavy I did 2 routes for 6 years because they wanted to save money,would not hire a second rep.co-workers were great when I seen them on friday.hardest part of job was 600 kilometers per day.

Enjoyed the travel. Every day had a new challenge. Learned a lot more about electrical circuits. Last manager was terrible. Co-workers were not supportive. Hardest part of the job was working with alcoholic co-worker. Most enjoyable was the custmers.

Enjoy customer relations ,positive attitude. Friendly co -workers.work closely with management and coworkers. Give 100 percent of my time to the job.enjoy merchandising and upsetting to customer 

the co workers were great. best hands on learning experience I have had. it was a fast paced. I would learn something new every day. if there was something that I did not know they would teach me.
the lower level management was get but the higher management was not so good .

Working for Van Houttee coffee serves is one of the best company i have ever worked for in Canada, we prefab all kind of coffee machines take them apart and make the machine run like new
